    Nobody really knows. Some British guy, I believe. The Americans think that they're actually independant. It's a very common misconception. And it sure is fun to see their reaction when the subject comes up.

    Hillary vs. Jeb? UGH! Considering the kind of people being nominated, there's very little hope for any improvement. Quite the opposite in fact. The smart money is on the continuing slide into darkness. Nobody's voting for more freedom. They're voting for lower gas prices, "lower" taxes, more entitlements. Which they won't get, of course. But freedom? It's hardly even a peripheral issue these days. That's just a lot of hippie talk. The party(republicrat) is now the "feel good" party, totally lacking in substance, but will definitely carry you deeper into the pits of hell, which, if 2004 is any indication, is what 99 percent of the voters apparently desire...for their neighbors anyway.

    until they make mandatory. The national 55 mph speed limit, ISP data retention, implants, soon the military again, this is your slippery slope, no? Of course the naysayers won't believe it until it becomes a vertical cliff. And even then they'll maintain that we're just paranoid. These are the blind mofos that have led us to where we are today. We've been riding this slope for so long, that we have forgotten what it feels like to stand on level ground. Quite the lemmings we are.

    It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine.

    The proposal is more about exploiting fear to make gobs of money. From another article written in 2002(at least I think it was. I honestly can't tell since it's on today's page of the site. However it is more enlightening than the summary article.), "FDA approval could take years, and we can start making money off of this thing now!" . I don't know whether scream, DUPE!, or simply say thanks for the reminder(not that anybody who can will do anything about it). On another note, does the yro section have any good news? I'm sure the warhawks and wannabe warlords out there(you know who you are...freaks) consider this good news, but I'm talking about good news for righteous, conscientious people who believe individual freedoms.

    I believe we can apply your post to society in general. People really don't want freedom. They don't want to make "hard" choices. I have the same problem. I can't decide whether I want salsa or mustard on my hotdog. I will literally dwell on it for at least five minutes. Life would so much easier if there is only one choice.

    Let the water sit until you get a good layer of algea and other lifeforms growing in there. Throw in some planton and some kelp. Some corral to make it look nice, maybe a clown fish or two(don't forget to add salt), and it should work. To make it more exciting, put in some baby sharks, lobsters, electric eels, and some jelly fish.

    Redundant, eh? Well I can tell you that every yro(even though, technically this one isn't under yro) article and subsequent response is redundant(that includes my responses. I'm just too lazy to link to the old ones, as opposed to reposting, but if that is what you prefer, I'll try to accomodate). I can go back years and find very little of anything new. You might consider that the occassional reminder in these matters might be helpful. And life's too short to read through all the responses here to make sure it hasn't been said before. But hey, it's not like I'm complaining or anything.

    Even simpler...power and sex. Even more simpler...sex. Having more power brings on more sex. We exist to reproduce. The instinct is most basic and extremely powerful. It is the prime motivator for every single thing that we do.

    You gotta remember, "It's the economy, stupid.". If people feel comfortable, they simply don't want to rock the boat. It's happening in China(and of course the States, UK, Austrailia, etc.) right now. A comfortable public is a placid(flaccid?) public. The rise of a middle class will bring greater security to its government that any military force. When WMDs or torture or corruption cause high gas prices, or jeapordize the American Idol vote, then the politicians will feel the public's wrath. Otherwise very few people will lift a finger to bring about any change. You don't see lions or tigers ever running around except when hunting for food, do you? When their bellies are full, what do they do? They take a nap. There is no reason to believe that people are any different. It's nature's way.

    away from being the Intel knockoffs they really are today to putting some of that cool GPU stuff on the CPU and making a better(meaning much faster) though probably heavily DRM'd(thus NOT better) chip. Note that ATI is already pretty badly DRM'd now, so I probably won't ever buy one.
