The "mainstream" (corporate) press likes things just the way they are, thank you... All your moral indignation is meaningless as long as your neighbor thinks the status quo will put one more penny in his/her bank account.
Actually, you can make anything fly if you put a big enough motor on it(space shuttle). Really, all that "thrust, drag, lift, and weight" stuff is a bunch of nonsense. The only thing an airplane needs to fly is money.
Apperently "unlimited" is as meaningful as a pre-nup. Even if it is well defined in the contract, they can chenge the terms more often than I change my socks. But that is usually spelled out in the contract, also. (The terms...not my socks)
"...The existing protective order was mutually drafted and agreed upon by IBM, the court, and SCO..." I haven't read very much of this thread, so I am probably being redundant here. It would behoove(sp) us all to be just a little wary of IBM here. While they appear to be supporting Linux now, they could torpedo the whole thing, and it (Linux) could sink faster than the Lusitania(sp). After all, they are part of that "Trusted Computer Initiative(sp)" thing, right? I hope I'm wrong. They do provide LOTS of developemental support, but I kind of believe that they are also exploiting all the "free" labor that the Community is providing to the system. Let's not forget their history here. This is a for profit corporation, they will do anything to maintain that profit. I'm not against profits per se, but we should all sleep with one eye open in the meantime. Off topic - Oh... and vote for that Kucinich guy for Prez. He's the least evil of the bunch.
- Hey, Rock, watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat...
"Keep your mouth shut if you don't know what you're talking about." Woah, settle down, Beavis. I usually don't know what I'm talking about, and I can't spell, either. Make a sandwich, smoke a fatty, and enjoy the show...
Yeah, well...configuring a browser is kind of hard on this tired brain...Besides, I'm scared that if I don't maintain the default settings, something will break. I figure the software designer knows what's best for me. I need to keep good karma with my computer. If I treat it nice, it'll return the favor.
Well, it was intresting read, but some of those tiny fonts are kind of hard on these tired eyes. It wasn't entirely humorless - "...there are several advantages to using vxfs, primarily speed and fscking issues." The big issue to me was...uh, oh, now I get it.
"I know that pet owners of iguanas often accelerate the "solar cycle" to end shedding earlier." This reminds me of a "half baked idea" that was dreamed up a while ago. Scientist were going accelerate the day-night cycle of a prayer plant to the point that if it was fast enough, the plant would pick up and fly away...It won first prize, I believe.
I guess we should support this movie if it wasn't made by Miramax. Just don't link to it if it's not available in your country. I personally believe we should boycott any group (MPAA in this case) that supports what Miramax did.
I'm confused. Should it matter which distro you're running? I understand that different distros have different programs, but the kernel and modules are similar, right?

The old man did ok, I think. Besides, his kid will also be mayor until he's quite dead (and maybe sometime after) just like being the pope.

"Asian orange..."
Didn't we use that stuff in 'nam?
"When I was a boy..." I had a four function calculator "with big green numbers and little rubber feet"
in a really cool office. If you want something that works on a "puny" P4 with a "measly" 1.7 ghz...will "Hearts" work ok?
Yeah, Iknow. I was just being silly, thinking they just call it that because their stuff...uh..how do you say in english...estinks?

"...still living in mom's basement rent free."
Move to the attic. More light, and the view is better.

"...UnixWhere."
UnixThere
"The Unixware product will no longer be marketable under the "SCO" name..."
Which will probably "confuse the build scripts" even more.
How appropriate.
"There is no reason to use such an expensive, restrictive OS..."
It's only $100 more than Linux...

"Not really an orange"
Maybe not, but how does it compare to an Apple?

If it's going to be a pocket computer, why can't they shape it like a bratwurst?
Let's just hope they don't do this for Mr. Potato(e) Head.
