Bose sound equipment is terrible, and it's marketed in such a way that it tricks the customer in to thinking that it sounds better than it really does. Essentially, if you buy a Bose sound system, you really are getting a sub-par product for an over inflated price.
Too bad your experience isn't representative of the sciences as a whole. Most scientists continue to do it because they love it, not because it is actually beneficial for them to have a career in science.
Why should this have anything to do with females and minorities. They have the same opportunities to enter the sciences as anyone else. That's not the problem. The shitty conditions most scientists have to put up with is.

If by baked, you mean in to a fully steaming pile of shit, I'd agree. Nothing against cyanogen or android, but the nook hardware is crap.
It's good for reading books, anything past that is pushing it to be something it really shouldn't be doing.
