  1. Throw 'em away. on Is the Physical CD Still A Viable Market? · · Score: 1

I just spent several days ripping my cd collection to MP3 and throwing most of the discs away. I like music and having a sizeable collection just takes up too much space and is difficult to sort through. CD's also get scractched and for these reasons, I decided I do not want to have a lot of discs sitting around. However, there were a few that had special packaging, exceptional album art and photos, and carried certain sentimental value.. so i kept them. I will still go out every now and then and buy a CD if I REALLY want to have a physical copy, but for the most part I would rather just pay a reasonable price to download the music I want.

  2. Still Owe Me on Massive Porn Buyer Info Leak · · Score: 1

Not true, they still owe me over $30k and I think 18 million total is still owed to webmasters

  3. Oblivion on World of Warcraft AQ Gates Open! · · Score: 1

The single player RPG Oblivion is sorta doing away with levels and experience points. http://www.elderscrolls.com/games/oblivion_overvie w.htm

Instead of gaining points and then suddenly getting better at everything once you reach a certain number. You will only get better at things you actually use.

So if you use your sword a lot, you will get better at it gradually over time. and so on with other skills.

I really like the idea and look forward to playing the game.

I don't have time to dedicate to MMO's so I prefer single player games :)

  4. Re:wrong people, bad law on DoJ search requests: Yahoo, AOL, MSN said "Yes" · · Score: 1

COPA is beyond a dumb law. They say it is to protect children from porn, but the law will be useless because it only affects americans. The pornographers (I am one of them) will just move business elsewhere if the government gets too restrictive. Keeping porn away from your kids needs to be done the way it was when I was a kid. Good parenting. Not silly laws that will not work.

  5. Re:To repeat myself. on .xxx Domain Remains in Limbo · · Score: 1

I agree. I certainly don't wan't kids looking at my website but I am not willing to switch domains just because the government thinks I should. I've already spent a lot of time and money branding my .com domain, to be forced to change would not only be unfair, but also very ineffective considering that you can't make all porn sites in all countries move.

Why does every semi-cool MP3 player that comes out have to be a "ipod killer"?
Yes, Ipod has taken a big share of pop culture and its pretty nice. but it wasn't the first mp3 player, nor will it be the last. There is plenty of room for competition, espeically as long as ipods remain overpriced.

  9. another hydrogen car on Hydrogen Vehicle Generates Its Own Fuel · · Score: 1
I don't have a link, but there is another guy who has been driving around a hydrogen car for quite a while, and rather than try to produce the hydrogen on the car, he just makes the hydrogen in his garage. Fills up plenty of extra tanks so he always has enough fuel.

In the future, You shouldnt need to worry about even producing it yourself, it is just something spiffy you can do if you really want to. Most people will opt to get their hydrogen at a gas station. I already fill my propane tanks at the gas station, I wouldnt be hard for them to adapt to distributing hydrogen.

One more thing.. any time you run the free version of Edonkey it constantly tries to give you popups and insteall spy/adware on your computer. I've got it all blocked but it is still annoying. One nice thing about bittorrent is you do not have to worry about that.

  12. holographic video on Ethernet at 10 Gbps · · Score: 1
I read an article a while back talking about some of the various holographic video technologies that exist.
In some of them, you are required to render the video from all possible viewing angles, creating terrabytes upon terrabytes of data for just a short video clip.
So, I am guessing that Three dimensional video will have no problems using up the bandwidth in the future.

Never underestimate what people can come up with to use available bandwidth, processing, and storage.
