considering the fact that the os is basically xp with even more eye-candy and drm, i made the decision that i will be turning my windows machine into a linux one once they drop support for xp. having direct-x 10 and halo 2 pc vista only just shows how desperate Microsoft is to have people to buy their new os. basically they know on features alone they won't sell enough of the new os so they have to add artificial restrictions.
is the poster child of the rift between first and third world. no third world family is going to spend the equivalent of $100 of their local money(despite the fact that it would most likely be at or over a years worth of income for them) on this. they would rather spend it on essentials such as food and water. even if it was given to them they still would not find too much use for it. the money spent to make this would of been better used in helping the poor in the third world get better access to water and fight the world bank in it's pursuit of making water a commodity and not what it really is, a necessity needed for life. i know i will be modded down and shouted at by libertarians because i soiled their 'all mighty free market god'. that doesn't hide the fact that i am speaking the truth here.
you have it reversed.
china will just sell the stuff they make to another country while we take a nose dive into the third world. to them any first world country is a potential customer.
it's the same video that was released years ago.
all it shows is a intact pentagon, then a exposion, then smoke. it doesn't show what hit it to cause the exposion and smoke.
is going to crash the gaming industry it is the mistaken belife that graphics=gameplay & story.
why buy ut2k7/8/9 etc when it's the same as the previous game but better graphics and new models throwen in.
also consider oblivion, the story is weak, the game takes no chances. it's morrowind with better graphics and less choices.
not only dead but all that remains of the horse are are the bashed bleached bones.
like many things micro-kernels look good on paper but fail in the real world, in this case the users of such systems found the trade off of security vs usability unacceptable.
saying 'with a dual core machine you won't have a problem with it' is missing the point entirely because that is like what microsoft is saying with vista 'if you have a bleeding edge video card you wont have a problem with it'. only programs should limit themselves with hardware is best for them. the os should work on as many peices of hardware thats possible while using as little resources as possible. linux simply won out over minix in this reguard.
your half right. better/bigger textures do not make a game better.
the best thing you can do right now.

i would like to point out all the alternative fuels for cars have been around since the beginning of the car along with a few that aren't around at the moment.
i am waiting till it hits the bargain bin, from what i have seen and experienced it's all flash and no substance. the game feels like they spent 90% of it's dev time making it look pretty and threw the rest in at the last minute.
20 bucks is all that i would pay for something like this, 25 if the drop the level and loot scaling.
buy a mini-itx system based off of via's cpu's for doing word-processing, movie's(you will love the built in mpeg2/4 acceleration), and surfing the internet.
put it togeather with a laptop hard drive and optical drive and it uses much less power then a 100 watt lightbulb.
the new ones can do 5.1 sound and have s-video out:)
i would be saying the same thing if the tables were turned and it was amd supplying the hardware and the benchmarks. the review site has lost it's creditability in my eyes because of this.
the bios on the amd mcahine they supplyed most likely doesn't support dual core athlon-fx's thus making it run with only one core which would acount for the lack of performance.
it being a game which is to date the best example of being made for the dumbest person possible.
It won't require you to think at all, just follow compass and all will be fine.
don't worry about running out of magic, which would prevent you from casting your uber spells. your mana regenerates like wolverine's skin. After that you can spend the rest of the level sneaking around like solid snake while wearing full plate mail.
it's games like this that has made me realize it's just isn't worth it to pay 50-60 dollars for a game anymore. especially since this one will require uber hardware just to get the best out of the few hours it's fun to play.
mod me down if you want, but if i wanted to play a game like this i can go next door and play with their kids free of charge.
oh and i have confirmed it on the fourms say bye bye to configureing the kernel manualy during the install. you can choose what kenerl but not what is in the kernel.
"Does this they can get in trouble for carrying illegal content?"
in a good world yes they would because if they lobby to remove their only defense in that matter it would open them up for lawsuits and prosecution etc. but their lawyers most likely already have a loophole for them in the new bill they want to make law that keeps the current communications giants free from prosecution while not letting new-comers who will spring up because of the tiered Internet by providing un-tiered access the same protection. this folks is the reality of how company's operate when there is no one to prevent them from doing something wrong. remember standard oil and co? when people say this is a administration that is friendly to company's. they mean company's who are like the old standard oil, ma-bell, etc. for those of you who will say 'that won't happen in a free market' look a little further back in history and see that both those examples formed in what you would call a 'free market'
personally i think the whole situation can be attributed to considering corporations as individual entities and not what they really are, a group of people who would do anything to not only continue to get profits but to increase those profits to the point of breaking the law if they know they can get away with it. enron was just unlucky enough to get caught basically..

or they could just dump all the us treasury bonds they have.
not to mention apple is a niche small market player. way under dell's radar.
because bush has been cuting nasa's budget year after year.
isn't microsoft his company activly trying to consolize the pc doing the exact same thing that bill gates here is denying?

have a faster version of it. i liked token ring.
would somthing as trivial as finding out how to triple boot the machine become news..

it LICENCED it from the state run software company of the old ussr.

umm one quarter of 1920x1080 is 480x270
when they stop charging you like a mmorpg.
so by that logic i could say kill you and then go about saving someone else which then makes me immune to being prosecuted..
