- *Not* drinking caffeine (a painkiller) means that now I feel the migraines I've apparently been getting for a few years (according to my doctor). They're pretty infrequent, though, so I just keep a bottle of aspirin around.
I saw this on the news one night and thought it was interesting. They said that too many pills for headaches can actually cause migraines. If you come to rely on them it's possible that after the relief runs out the headaches is actually worse than it was before the pill. Your body expects the relief and it comes headache comes raging back until you pop another pill.
I quit caffeine cold turkey, but I've fallen off of the wagon. Is there a 12 step plan for caffeine?
I live in Portland, OR. and I've used Free Geek. They have reasonable prices for the return of things dangerous to the environment, like monitors. They also run some great programs as well.

I was helping a family friend reinstall everything on their emachine becuase it had slowed to a crawl. I thought there was tons of spyware and uneccessary programs running. (I was right on both accounts) It turns out when you install Windows ME (this is an older comp) the install disk installs half the crap. There's some sort of shopping toolbar installed and a bunch of other junk. I'd never recommend an emachine, that's for sure.
Well, Slashdotters are always complaining about crappy music, so if the people buying Britney Spears and the like are turned into crispy critters, won't music companies have to start putting out good music?
(I'm not advocating the use of flame throwers on people, this is just hypothetical.)
Two other words to avoid using in phrases:
"mounting" or "bit stuffing"
But then again I suppose that it depends on the type of chicks you're looking for
I'd have to agree. It's not like taking a shaky video and piping it to your bigscreen and surround sound is all that enjoyable. I think that online downloading of movies is a lot less harmful to the industry than downloading music. The quality issues are what should concern the music and movie industries (take that as you will)
Games are just another scapegoat. These days a lot of children grow up with no respect for anything. If you don't grow up w/o respect you can't function in society. It starts at home. Besides, the real blame should be placed on those voices in my head.
