just do a "netstat" command in CMD when browsing the net in internet explorer, you will see the hostname/ip and port of the proxy server.

FYI: IE is no longer produced for mac, only security updates are availible for it now.
I can delete IE and the IE active x components are still there and work fine... sounds like integration to me.
