    I had to dig out the sewer line of a small medical building, I was up to my knees in half frozen feces, urine, and assorted medical waste 12 hours a day digging...and digging. And the other guy working with me was out on bail after killing his girlfriend.

    But it wasn't nearly as bad as working at Dell.

    If you go downtown in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia you'll be suprised to see more Koreans, Bangladeshis, and Indians, who've been imported for menial labor, than native Saudis. I would be more interested in knowing what sort of geek community these people had than a bunch of rich boy Saudis.

    Sounds like a good idea at first but then...

    No universal time standard would be useful on planets because the inhabitants would want likely want it to correlate with the rising and setting of the sun which, along witht the length of the day would be different on every planet. It would only be useful in outer space and in outer space earth time would be just as useful as any other measurement wouldn't it?

    You might want to check your facts about China's prison population. It's closer to 20 million. I guess I should add an obligatory "I hate bush" comment since that seems to ensure a few extra karma points.

    For all the dumbasses making snide comparisons between the U.S and China a little reality check might be in order.

    - China accounts for 80% of the world's executions with nearly 1,200 executions a year. There are no appeals, you're executed within minutes of your conviction.
    - Close to 1 million dissidents are currently in detention.
    - Over 300,000 political prisoners are in re-education camps, without any trial.
    -China executed nearly 1,800 people in a three month period as part of a crime crack-down to win hosting of the 2008 Summer olympics.
    -In China execution is a valid punishment for nearly 70 different offenses, including stealing gasoline.
    -China executed nearly 4,000 people in 1996 Strike Hard campaign.

    Kinda puts things in perspective huh?
