    My school used to run a hodgepodge network of Windows 98, 95, and Me machines. The only halfway safe thing was that the pentium 133 running NT4 acting as a gateway. Their goddamn fileserver ran Windows 95A, sharing GRADES AND PERSONAL INFORMATION over SMB. They came to me one day and asked me if I could help them out, tell them why their network was so unstable. I couldn't do anythung but laugh at these fools. To my knowledge, it's still run on the same computer 4 years later.

    You know those times in XP when your computer just spontaneously restarts out of nowhere right in the middle of that lovely document you were composing?

    You can disable that. Start > Settings > Control Panel > System > Advanced > "Settings" under "Startup and Recovery"; Uncheck "Automatically Restart"

    Of course, nobody knows about it because it takes a fuckin' 400-page novel to describe how to do it.

    You also have to remember cell phones, set-top boxes (digital cable, DVD players, PVR, satellite decoders, etc.), Palmtops, servers, mainframes, and a whole huge list of things I can't think of at the moment.

    My parents, who are technologically challenged, own one PC, 2 cell phones (by nokia, who TMK use ARM chips), 2 satellite receivers with Motorola PPC hardware, and a DVD player that may or may not be PPC.

    If you skewed the statistics in favor of the PC, I'd imagine that the PC accounts for 25% of the processor market. Suddenly, 95% of the PC market looks pretty puny.
