Don't worry about that intrusion on the development server - the profile suggests it was only a script-kiddie looking for mp3s
What is next? A questionnaire if the Mafia prefers 9mm or.357s?
> I'm pretty sure Parallels runs using a hypervisor too, IIRC. It's not Mac virtualizing a Windows platform, it's Parallels virtualizing both Mac and Windows. The Mac acts as a host operating system
Bzzzzt. Thanks for playing. Parallels is just a Mac application. No virtualization of the Mac OS is happening.
Macintosh computers using Intel microprocessors do not use Open Firmware. Although many parts
of the IO registry are present and work as expected, information that is provided by Open Firmware
on a Macintosh using a PowerPC microprocessor (such as a complete device tree) is not available in
the IO registry on a Macintosh using an Intel microprocessor. You can obtain some of the information
from IODeviceTree by using the sysctlbyname or sysctl commands.
Thats odd... I used my Texas DL as ID to check-in at the airport recently... I don't think the machine used any type of OCR to read the front of the license.
I thought about modding you up, because you are right that Tiger can actually use that much VRAM,
but I don't see any indication that this card will work in a Mac.
Gaming performance is hardly missing the point. The title of the press release is "ATI's Radeon® X800 XL 512 MB Graphics Card Delivers Better Performance and Image Quality For Top Games"...
I'm sure ATI will bring a Mac edition of a 512MB card someday, but I don't think this is it.
IANAMolecularBiologist...
So, wouldn't that imply that some people might be naturally immune already? Wonders of evolution and all that...
Anyone ever found any? If not, why not?

Syberia and Syberia II should be on that list. A truly moving story.

Anyone find the Well World yet?

I know it doesn't meet your RAM requirements, but have you looked at the OQO?
I'd use a Mac mini myself.
Duh.

You must be new here - Welcome! We've been fascinated with Apple for a long time.
No, no, no... they can read, you just need to put it in a /. context:
*hand wave* These are not the thin clients you are looking for...
Who says that Japan won't build one too, ala Contact.

The missing link: TrackPoint Mouse
I sure hope IBM^H^H^HLenovo will release their TrackPoint Mouse for those who hate touchpads.
According to Apple's Developer Docs, page 85 the new systems are IA-32
Sorry, you are wrong according to Apple's Documentation page 47.

Since the iPod doesn't have a 1920x1080 screen, I don't think that too much a problem...
H.264 will change everything.

Well, Tiger is shipping on the newest Mac hardware already.
Just ordered a 2.7 GHz system, and it included a link to the Tiger Online Seminar.
I haven't heard anything about when it will be available on the older Macs.
