Am I missing something? Couldn't you just have a class in Java along the lines of
public class Acme {
public final boolean isPerfect() {
return true;
} }
that would accomplish the same thing? I'd think that the parent post was a joke, except that it's modded Interesting & Informative instead of Funny, so there MUST be something going on I'm not aware of, right?
What IS an issue for concern, however, is the ease and low cost of building a HERF device. A low-power handheld HERF device was demonstrated at DEFCON, I believe, and was able to shut down computers from some distance.
Why, the obvious sollution is to have the gun double as a Faraday Cage!
I am appalled at your ignorance. The parent (well, grandparent for me) post will only succeed at getting the FBI at the door. The NSA doesn't care what you say online as long as you don't mention that you know someone who's a Muslim. And in that case they'll likely still let the FBI come get you. You know that whole information sharing deal and all that.
And how long do you think before this sort of encryption becomes illegal? Wasn't there some bill/law in the UK that you have to provide the government with all your private keys or face jail time?
Exactly. I don't get why some people are so upset at the actions of the government and data brokers, when they're only doing what Veronica Mars gets kudos for.
If people aren't buying and selling items for real cash, then in reality people don't want or need the items in game.
Or maybe people can distinguish between reality and the game world, and don't want to spend any more real money on the game than the purchase price, subscription fee, and an expansion or dozen.
I know of a midsized company that wanted to be bought by another company, so it shipped products to its customers which the customers never ordered. Invoiced them too. That way it could report more revenue, nevermind that the customers were very rightfully pissed off.
I'm definitely no fan of the current U.S. administration, and maybe I'd agree with you if the president of the country trying to acquire nuclear weapons didn't go on rants about how some other nations need to be wiped off the face of the Earth. As it is, I support any means necessary to stop Iran from becoming a nuclear power.
I used to use the number pad in the beginning, when I'd first decided to see what all that "circlestrafing" business was about with Duke3d. However there just weren't enough buttons within easy access, especially when it comes to the real number keys. Currently my favorite is the ESDF configuration. Just like WASD, but, again, more buttons within easy reach.
I've long ago realized that on the cosmic scale of things humans are just way too insignificant to matter. There is only one way we can make our presense truly felt by the Universe - by destroying said Universe. And I have full confidence in the ability of our species to eventually do just that (unless of course we are wiped out first.)
Yes, blowing up the galaxy is not the way to go. It would probably be a lot easier to create a rift in the time-space continuum that would swallow the whole thing up.
During those six months new state-of-the-art components will have come out. Wait another six months and pick them up for half the cost. Same money, better system!
Blizzard settled out of court. So there is no legal president set.
There's still a precedent here, even if it isn't a legal one. It shows users that it is possible for them to successfully fight the game companies on this kind of issue, though it may be expensive.
I do, on a P3-800. I even play games on it, though older ones. Current favorite - Age of Wonders: Shadow Magic. Runs mostly flawlessly, though tends to slow down in the end game for the largest scenarios.

An individual getting access to a company's private database? That will never happen!

Wouldn't that be NIMH? Unless of course you meant the New Iceland Heritage Museum?

Great idea, I'll make sure SCO hears of it.

I think the ones between "boyfriend's uppercut" and "boyfriend's boot heel" would probably be "upskirt".
Exactly. I don't get why some people are so upset at the actions of the government and data brokers, when they're only doing what Veronica Mars gets kudos for.
The chip is codenamed Detritus, right?
Flamebait? Talk about biased moderators (yeah, I know I'll get modded down for that one). The guy brings up some good points.

$5.90, or $6.38 through PayPal..
knowledge = power = work / time = energy / time
knowledge * time = energy
So it all depends on how much time you spend in the library.

And this is why we should never forget Poland.

Ah, so that's how all our phone conversations are stored.

I'm rooting for gamma.
