"Anti-competitive practices"? What are you talking about? Suing your own fans is the ultimate "pro-competitive" practice since it drives your fans to the competition!
I think the linked blog post about Wales paying for massage parlor trips with money donated to the foundation is a bit more damning than helping his girlfriend edit her wikipedia page.
And as soon as the.xxx domain is approved, there will be attempts to force porn sites to use it. From that point its a slippery slope. And yes, sometimes slippery slopes are real.
I think the developers would prefer that you went ahead and paid $20.
Personally I paid $20 and feel fine about it. I would've only paid $10 if it wasn't for the charities. Then again, I already owned (well, rented from Steam) 3 of the 5 titles.
Plus you can get some relatively cheap advertising for donating. For example I stopped by analogpixels.com to check out who this #2 contributor so far was....
So how about the woman in the article who slid down the slide too fast, and broke bones after crashing into a wall across from the slide? What did she do wrong? Dip herself in lubricant before sliding?
Think about it, Guild Wars is probably one of the best bang for your buck you can get as far as RPGs go, if you forget for a second that it's a MMO on top of that.
Unless you count games with plenty of free mods available:)
Imagine if you had to hand over six percent of the money in your pocket as taxes just to be allowed in the door of a casino. Incredible horseshit, no? To even suggest it is ludicrous. And yet there it is.
Considering you're not pressured to pay out 10% of any winning hand as tips to the dealer, I'd say this is a far better deal.
I know its a joke, but it's true that trailers can mislead people. The TV trailers for KickAss are a very good recent example. No one who saw those, without doing any further research, would suspect the movie to be as brutal and violent as The Watchmen.
The permissions issue vulnerability allowing the attackers to hack the sites could very well be the same, even if what they do after gaining access to the accounts is different.
There are tons of such first contact stories, with various twists.
In one I read earlier, an advanced alien race got tired of dealing with the self-destructive end results of violent civilizations (runaway Von Neumann Machines, xenocidal AIs, superpowered hive minds, etc) so whenever they come across a civilization which shows a potential for such an end, they basically neuter it by removing its capability for literacy. This is though of as similar to trimming the hedges.
Look at the silver lining, at least they didn't strip search her.

Same here. In fact, when some game I had pirated in the past came up on Steam, I usually bought it.
That reminds me, I need to buy the id pack next time its on sale :)
Simple. The assistant principle is not I.T., is he? Therefore this is not proof that anyone from I.T. dept saw the photo.
And another person's National Geographic.

But not for long.
If your PC was built during the last 7 years, it shouldn't any trouble running Gish or World of Goo, or even Penumbra for that matter.
That's the second biggest twinkie I've ever seen!
"Troll" mod? Seriously?

Well I guess at least he didn't try to cover up the cover up, right? Otherwise he'd be facing consecutive life sentences...
So "obstructing justice" relating to a misdemeanor is a felony?
And before anyone scream piracy, I spend at least an average of $300 on games each month, so keep me out of that endless loop.
Wait, are you that guy with 20 WoW accounts who does raids all by himself?
Illegal immigration is akin to slavery, pure and simple.
Wait, what now? Since when is all (or most, or even a significant fraction) of illegal immigration counted as human trafficking?

capable of avoiding the airspace of neutral countries, for example, or steering clear of hostile territory.
So if it will avoid neutral countries, and steer clear of hostile territories, by process of elimination that leaves the target to be our allies?

Better get cracking on AI technology first, or the Turians will just overrun us after the first contact fiasco.
