    And as soon as the .xxx domain is approved, there will be attempts to force porn sites to use it. From that point its a slippery slope. And yes, sometimes slippery slopes are real.

    I think the developers would prefer that you went ahead and paid $20.

    Personally I paid $20 and feel fine about it. I would've only paid $10 if it wasn't for the charities. Then again, I already owned (well, rented from Steam) 3 of the 5 titles.

    Think about it, Guild Wars is probably one of the best bang for your buck you can get as far as RPGs go, if you forget for a second that it's a MMO on top of that.

    Unless you count games with plenty of free mods available :)

    Imagine if you had to hand over six percent of the money in your pocket as taxes just to be allowed in the door of a casino. Incredible horseshit, no? To even suggest it is ludicrous. And yet there it is.

    Considering you're not pressured to pay out 10% of any winning hand as tips to the dealer, I'd say this is a far better deal.

    I know its a joke, but it's true that trailers can mislead people. The TV trailers for KickAss are a very good recent example. No one who saw those, without doing any further research, would suspect the movie to be as brutal and violent as The Watchmen.

    There are tons of such first contact stories, with various twists.

    In one I read earlier, an advanced alien race got tired of dealing with the self-destructive end results of violent civilizations (runaway Von Neumann Machines, xenocidal AIs, superpowered hive minds, etc) so whenever they come across a civilization which shows a potential for such an end, they basically neuter it by removing its capability for literacy. This is though of as similar to trimming the hedges.
