...'cos what's going to happen if they install enough of them is that cars will have to use more gas to get over them all, hence all you're doing is using fossil fuels instead of grid electricity - which could be from low-emission nuclear power. So in the end, it's not a very green solution.
If there were no IE exploits, there would be no opportunities for pr0n gangsters to rip you off with their lovely dialer virii, and if we didn't have them, we'd have less lovely pr0n to look at. So, in summary, M$ are largely responsible for my one-man love life. I think some gratitude is in order.
...you should have the right to claim ownership of a piece of imaginative work if it is clear that no other person or persons in the world could reasonably come up with the same work independently.
This would protect music, fiction, movies, etc - but would preclude the would-be ownership of less composite ideas, like compression algorithms, or one-click shopping. If someone else could come up with an almost identical entity, then what natural rights do you suppose you can command?
I am, matey - I assure thou! Cor blimey, guv - lord luv a duck, en that. I can even tell you who won the 1981 FA Cup. (Spurs, good ol' Ricky Villa). 'ullo John, got a new motor?;-)
As a UKian, I'm quite pleased that the UN has decided it cannot stick its nose in where it doesn't belong. I think the USians have every right to maintain control of ICANN. It's their gosh-darned system, ain't it (largely)?
They made it - they run it (quite well, all things considered) - I think a modicum of gratitude and respect is merited for this.
(Please don't mod me down - I'm actually being very honest!)
From my experience in both academia and business, software creation works best when a team effort is applied. Academia is inherantly 'memememe' - there are far too many individual egos and interests to foster the kind of group ethic that is needed for most projects to flourish. I'm glad I'm out of it.
In neither UK nor US English does the word 'Freshend' exist. The point of correct usage is not to humiliate those who fail to grasp it, but to maintain it as a means of communication - without which, understanding each other would be very difficult, wouldn't it?
Why is it that when someone (rightfully) comments on the level of English employed here, people will moderate them down? Isn't correct language usage important?
More proof that 90% of/. moderators are ignorant, humourless wankers.
for SCO's customers. Ok - the management should be put in front of the firing squad, but the bulk of their employees and their customer base will turn out to be the real victims here. An ideal solution to this fiasco would be the incarceration of McBride/Stowell, and some reputable outfit picking up Unixware and OpenServer for a song, and continuing with their support.
Ok - even if you don't nuclear power it's a bad idea as it's bound to be hugely less efficient than using grid electricity - however that's generated.

I tried getting kinky with a digital girl once - but she core-dumped on me.

More of a laptop-dancer, to be honest.

Aren't Apple Corps going to complain about the Intel fiasco - as they have the prior Apple art on really crap business ventures.
Sounds like a Belgian lager, doesn't it?

I can picture him saying "Riiise, Lord Ballmer."
...as most of my programs tend to be floaters.
'Martian Yoghurt' from Muller - the choice of the extraterrestrially cultured.
Hope they've made it easier to install onto hd.
... and I'm glad the kids like it, but I won't even think about switching until it has a wonderful, cheerful, dancing paperclip to brighten up my day.

intelligent design in these spoofs.
It's just like the Beatles' (George Harrison) song: if you try to sit, I'll tax your seat, etc...
Ah-ha Mr Wilson...
There are some people in this world who should be removed in order to spare us their crushing banality.
Leave it aht - 'e's not wurphitt!
