In fact, maybe all spyware, pop-ups (or pop-unders), and spam should be on that list. Oh, and don't forget Video Professor. He gives me the heebie-geebies.
A Lifetime Achievement Award goes to Duke Nukem Forever on the suggestion of reader Jeff White, who wrote, "First proposed in 1801 (or something close to that), Duke Nukem Forever has now come to define the term 'vaporware.' I wouldn't be surprised if dictionaries actually began printing it: 'vaporware: n. See Duke Nukem Forever.'"
I feel that Tetris (by Tengen) is the worst video game ever.
On that note, i think Tetris (by Alexey Pajitnov) may very well be the best video game ever.
I think you need no higher than Flash 4 to view toons, games, characters, and email. I could be wrong. You might need 5. But, you don't have to have the latest flash. The only downside to not having it is that ads are persistent in trying to get you to download it and install it. But then again, they are also trying to get you to install gain.
They only surveyed 2033 people. How can they interpolate that to represent 149 million people. Besides, 82% of all statistics are made up. 76% of all people know that.
I couldn't have been impressed by the audio quality, even after I had my 486 DX4. It wasn't until after Pentiums got above the 120MHz mark, that I was able to listen to them while doing something else. Even then, the only thing I could do was try to beat my fasted Minesweeper time.
I'm not buying another DVD player until I absolutley have to, or the PS3 arrives in the US. And I'm not buying an HDTV until the price is reasonable and my analog TV fails. Furthermore, I don't want update my DVD collection to a higher quality format. Finally, we all remember that Beta was superior to VHS, and which standard was more popular?
Word doesn't save to pdf, and it won't open it in any legible way, either. Furthermore, I wouldn't consider Word document to be a platform-specific format. You can open and save OOo documents without any difficulty insurmountable by users who have OOo installed. I used OOo in college when all the labs used MS Office and I converted and dealt. It even got me out of working on some PowerPoint projects. OOo may be super-small, fast, stable, and have features on par with Office, but it is not the defacto file format for documents. Until it is, we'll just have to convert.
Your point is well taken. This would also do harm to the ranking methods of the Bayesian filters. Based on your Hamlet example, if Hamlet was included in every spam, then the filter would consider hamlet would be very likely to be spam. Then, the next time you try out your thesbian talents and the director emals you your hamlet script, it's marked as spam.
Are you saying that viagra is a common topic in the emails you receive from your friends? The Bayesian filter was designed to filter out words that wouldn't appear in a normal email and words that would appear in a spam. With this in mind, I find it hard to believe that spam and legit mail will intersect unless you spend much of your time communicating about the topics advertised in spam.
But those guys going for the $70k+ jobs have all those MS certs. We shouldn't disriminate just because they don't know how to use a command line. Tongue firmly planted in cheek Not for nothing, NOC-monkey work doesn't require the skill set your average $70k level III engineer earns.
Of all the power sources that pollute, nuclear power produces the least toxic waste. It produces far more energy for the amount of waste it produces than fossil fuel based plants.
Furthermore, there is a general misunderstanding about radiation. For example radiation from the sun has been linked to cancer, and credibly so. But radiation from the sun is also the number 1 cause of daylight. Radiation heats our homes, cooks our foods. So to say, "all forms of radiation are bad," is to make an uneducated generalization about radiation.
A bit of physics would help to sort out the harmful radiation from the helpful radiation.
How many jobs are expected to be created from a renewed space program? The Joint Strike Fighter program produced probably no more than 50,000 jobs.
Jobs created from a need of housing and other type standard of living needs are created regardless of job creating endeavor. Therefore, these jobs should not be counted when comparing programs.
Furthermore, what exactly are the benefits of exploring mars; and how do they compare with the benefits of other programs?
I'd like to see an alternatives analysis.

It doesn't appear to be slashdotted yet.
Well the Kilowatt will end up in the closet on top of the Power Pad, the Power Glove, the Sega Activator, and that arm wrestling coin-op.

Is it me, or do all of these terms mean different things?
"Modularizing" doesn't mean anything.
"Integrating" is used all the time in test processes. (not to mention "process")
Organic computing seems to me to be some sort of carbon-based machine, rather than the Silicon-based computers of today.

Silly, it doesn't use IP. It runs on a neural network. It's a learning OS.
It has all these old PC games, but no Megaman 3 or Wizards and Warriors or GAUNTLET. No, thanks. I think I'll just stick to my NES.

My Chem E friends kept calling it NMR, without the I. I never knew it was the same thing.

If radiation had feelings, they would be hurt.
