    Isn't this overestimating his contributions a bit? I acknowledge that he DID further computer science a significant bit, but would computers not exist if he did not contribute? Deducting from parallel evolution, doubtful.

    This might be a practical use of one, determine which emails are valid, and which aren't, like a spam filter. Allow users to flag 25% or so emails as important, and archive those.

    Yeah, it got cracked by using Illustrator to scan it in, or open an image, and import it into Photoshop. Quite ridiculous to spend time putting protection into one product, and not putting into its blood-brother.

    They (the counterfeiters) will just switch to another product, such as Macromedia Fireworks, GIMP, or Inkscape. This will only hurt the companies creating the products. Also, on another point, will there be GIMP EU edition, and GIMP Everyone Else Edition? How will this work?

    Yes, I am aware of that, but what if the spoofer tries to send MSBlaster or another virus? That would trigger the blocking (if it watched for that) wouldn't it?

    If you IP spoof and send a virus to one of the servers using this technology, you could pretty much get every IP in the world blocked. That is a very Bad Thing (TM)
