Suddenly Valve is linux happy because Windows 8 is apparently going to put the squeeze on services like steam, because MS's xbox live services will be better integrated into win8 than steam currently is in windows period.
Valve is lazy and they wont want to integrate steam into metro. Thats the problem. Their solution? They cry like babies and run to linux.
Windows isnt losing its gaming crown. In fact, Windows gaming is better than ever as we seeing that consoles are really just wanna-be windows pcs anyways, with gimped corporate toaster mentality.

MS is on to something. Metro is pretty nice actually. The problem is, the confusion between tablet and desktop. Well will all innovation comes a bit of uncertainty, confusion and "Bah humbug"
Metro is nice, and windows 8 is a a good os, but how will it fit into our idea of a desktop os and will we embrace it? If its truly good, then yes. Its going to be very odd, it might be odd until windows 9. But the technological accomplishments of having a full windows OS on a tablet is pretty impress, considering windows 8 is lighter on resources than 7 WITH a metro ui even.
Will it work? or will it blend?
I'm all for a start menu with more information. Time will tell, people will try it. I suspect many will like it. Power users will either find metro gets in the way, or its not so bad as we thought.
Not only that, Apple copied the Diamond RIO MP3 Player, Napster, Unix, Xerox, the color scheme and elegance of a piano in all of their graphic designs...

They are scared to because they think everyone will file a lawsuit against them. Its why Media player sucks, why an email program doesnt ship with windows 7... and why windows 8 will fail if MS keeps doing this to themselves.

Take a look around. I see more and more people complaining about Apple. I know someone who had a macbook pro that just broke. Apple wanted him to buy another. He looked at PC laptops and asked a friend of mine why PC laptops were so much cheaper and had the same if not better specs.
He now owns a pc laptop. He was a die hard mac user.
Apple is ridiculously controlling and overpriced. Users dont want that. Users want cool, so they put up with the fist fucking you get as an apple customer.
All businesses exploit their workers, underpay them etc. That is what you do to workers. Everyone knows only being the man at the top matters, and you're supposed to crush the fuck out of everyone else until they work for free for you because you offer crackers for lunch.
Which Apple project are you talking about? Are you talking about before Jobs return? Apple has pretty much gambled with itunes, ipod, iphone, ipad... and those are KEY devices/services that have changed everything.
Thats actually a very interesting point. I think you are right in that there are so few companies going for the big idea, that if you dare to go for the big idea at the right time, you're almost guaranteed total market share dominance.
