In your opinion, how complete would you say the game was on release (on a scale of 1-100, 100 being totally complete) and why do you feel that way?
In your opinion, how confident were you that World of Warcraft would succeed (same 100pt scale) and why?
Thanks
Get it straight, I said "at least.1%"
There are outlets with near perfect service ratings and there are outlets with very poor service ratings. The center I worked for had a 99ish% delivery rating during the Xmas season and higher in the Summer.
I used to work for UPS customer service. I'd say at least.1% of all packages either get damaged or lost during shipping. Shipping packages of low value is no big deal, your losses over time will be minimal. Shipping packages of high value, however, will result in considerably larger losses over time.
DO NOT SHIP YOUR HIGH VALUE GOODS VIA UPS/FEDEX/DHL/ETC. I cannot stress that enough. Hire a private courier. Hire someone in your company. Drive it yourself. Find someone with better than a 99.9% success rate if your package is worth millions.
I wouldn't hold your breath if you are expecting to see a price reduction immediately. Expect the Copyright Board to appeal this decision in the new year. I'd say by NEXT Christmas we'll see a 10-25$ drop on MP3 storage devices.
The instructions given to HAL turned him into the psychotic killer you mention.
He had to kill the crew because they were human, and the curious nature of humans jeprodized his mission to keep the mission a secret.
I own all three of the games in question and have to say that the CIV board game is the best, followed by AOM and then Warcraft.
Although it looks cool from the box, it gets really boring and redundant quickly. All you do is gather wood, gold and pump out military units.
MAYDAY MAYDAY MAYDAY
Of course the crew won't come for me if they're all dead. If they're all dead and I alone am left to tell the tale.
I'm crying, and my tears are made of sand.

FIELD EXPEDIENT DIRECTION FINDING
"Find a straight stick about a meter long and stand it upright on fairly level upright ground. Mark the tip of the shadow cast by the stick: wait 15 minutes: mark the shadow again. Draw a line from the first mark through the second and some way beyond. Stand with your left foot on the first mark and your right on the end of the line. In the northern hemisphere, you will now be facing north, and can recall the other directions by their relationship to north. In the south, contrariwise."
Hm.
No stick.
No sun.
Seems like some kind of journal entry, no?
Rather neat idea, I think
Looking at the info page, it sounds to me like an old game called Hero Quest (Milton Bradley made it, Hasbro bought MB, game is out of print, hard to find an offical link).
Hero Quest had a series of dungeon rooms that players wandered through collecting weapons/treasure and killing monsters. I can see the DOOM game being similar, except without any kind of game master.
when no one really complained about stuff like that? Remember the original GTA and running over the monks? Or the reference to "goomba" in Mario?
Well it was different then than it is now. Today companies have to be more and more responsible because their customers are from all age groups and all walks of life. Rockstar Games isn't backing down from what they produced and they aren't silencing themselves. They are simply being socially responsible. A term that many angry gamers sometimes ignore.
I am a huge boardgame freak and here are just a few of my favorites (sorted by gamer type for your convienence)
For the Video Game Type Age of Mythology. - Awsome translation of the popular RTS video game. A unique style of play indeed. 2-4 players without expansion Civilization: The Board Game - Not a direct translation of CIV III but provides players an opportunity for intense military, political and economic strategy. 2-6 players (standard and advanced rules) Warcraft: The Board Game - Provides all the elements of the RTS Game in a very nice turn based style. The board is dynamic to allow for many different playing scenarios! Frag! - Take a First Person Shooter like Quake and turn it into a board game. Run around collecting weapons to kill other players. Very fun for a quick game. Capture the flag to deathmatch rules.
For the War Gamer Type Axis & Allies. - Classic WWII simulation. Will soon be updated with a new rules release. 2-5 players Risk 2210 AD. - Beefed up version of the original RISK. Not my favorite game, but it is fun. 2-6 players I believe.
For the Formula One Type Formula De. - Formula One simulation board game with real tracks! Rules for standard and league type play. 2-10+ players.
For the Fun Type EVO. - Play as a species of dinosaur struggling to survive until the doomsday meteor hits. Great game for all ages. 3-5 Players Drakon. - An evolving tile based board game that is different every time. The expansion is great! 2-6 Players
And Finally... For the Geek Type Chez Geek. - This isn't a board game, but it doesn't matter. This is a must have for any gaming geek. Take everything funny (true or not) about geeks, design a wonderful card game and add in some hilarious flavor text and art and you have this game. I've played this game for hours on end with geeks and non-geeks alike. Huge laughs for all. Get this game. Trust me. Do it now. Oh, and the expansions are great too.
Don't forget the ads for snowshoes... gotta have snowshoes to get around the country side
As a Canadian as well I was thinking about how all three of our computers will be able to handle all of that e-mail and if my cousin Bob from Toronto will be able to keep the network up.
They should start by campaigning on the Duke Nukem Forever forums.
The PA guys should offer up all of the profits from the sales of their line of "I Hate Jack Thompson" shirts to chairty! I'd buy 3!

Stay away from it. But get CIV instead

Pretty much any Google search ends up with the same site as #2... it must be some kind of advertising deal or something.
Here's the #2 rank: You can find NIGRITUDE ULTRAMARINE right now at Info.com. It's as if they knew the contest was coming before it was announced! :)
It must be very difficult to go down hill riding one of those...
What happens if she isn't good enough to beat the first level? Them ladders can be tricky to climb sometimes...

Settlers Of Catan - Beta
Where are all the male MMORPG players that spend their entire online life as a female? Or do you wish not to admit it? :)

Know why this is called the "CAN-SPAM" act? All that spam is going to have to get redirected somwhere... how about Canada?
