Dump mercury/arsenic/anything they don't need into sewers, storm drains, barrels they throw in the dump, nearest river or ditch
    Predatory pricing/monopolies/cartels/price fixing
Not paying wages, hiring people to beat up/kill union workers/strikers
    Tax Evasion
Just recently bankers were caught fixing international interest rates [libor? sp?]

That's how businesses get "regulated". They SO EGREGIOUSLY kill, cheat, steal, evade that the gov't has to step in. Or else people would have to just show up and start shooting the executives.

yeah, my cousin from Germany was pretty surprised when I told him I got my learner's permit at age 14 after doing a 30 question multiple choice test, full unrestricted license at 16 after a 1/2 drivers test. But that was 30 years ago. Now, here in Alberta, it takes something like 3 years or so to go from a learners permit to a full license, with a bunch of testing stages in the middle. But it's probably still a joke compared to the process in Germany.

Because for quite some time, companies were getting surprised when Microsoft would release an 'app' that pretty much just wrapped a web site, but everything would point to the company creating the app, so they would get tech support calls for their app on Microsoft Windows Phone...which they didn't have and didn't know existed until phoned for tech support...

They know this. This is just being sold as a "help stop terrorists/child molesters" thing. They know that the people they most want to catch will have their stuff encrypted separately, using another app on the phone/device. And that information won't be able to be decrypted.

They want access to the general populations phones/devices, because regular people don't spend the time/effort to further encrypt their personal info. And this will give it to them.

For a basic example of this, see how the database the NSA made, supposedly to catch foreign terrorists, has just been repurposed to also help the FBI with domestic, non-terrorist crimes. Any bets on whether it will be more useful for this second purpose?

    So, you are delusional then.

While GM with OnStar may be the first or one of the earlier systems, every manufacturer is doing this for all their 'mainstream' vehicles.

You [the vehicle purchaser] are a cheapskate, and the car company deserves more money, just for permitting you the privilege of driving their vehicle, so they must be able to monetize whatever data they can get from your vehicle, for as long it is in service.

And if anything, fleet vehicles would be more likely to have tracking, simply so the head office can keep track of all their worker bee's. And even if it still is just an option now, costs are dropping so it'll be a default feature sooner than later.

Your best bet is to try to figure out where all the antennae are and cut them all.
