Umm yea, getting up and not having to get dressed, not having to sit in rush hour, not having to stress about possibly getting fired, not having to care what you look like etc...

I think the best ever is the classic stay at home mom that doesn't get a thing done and expects the husband to help out with chores when he gets home.

If we provide for them, they need to put in a fulltime job of providing a better lifestyle for us.

Show me a half decent looking woman, reasonably smart, and willing to pull her true "equal share of the load" in a relationship and I'll think about getting married one day. Women want their cake and to eat it too, suck it up it's life.

    1. Ditch the loser husband, if he can't provide for you then have him stay home and take care of the dogs and everything else. Nobody should be the breadwinner and take care of the house. Split up the roles, or find a real man.

    2. This is Computers, it's a thinking career, you either need to learn how to adapt and grow or go apply at McDonalds as they do training there. IT is not a trained career, training is great but you should be able to use the docs and past experience to solve most of your issues.

And yes sometimes personal time is needed to solve problems, when you're an employee that happens. If you're a contractor (i suspect your not) then you bill for your training time and it's a non-issue.

The myth of a 40 hour work week died with the myth of 9 - 5 and paid lunches. The reality is almost all of us work 9 hour days minimum and companies will bleed you to death. Welcome to the modern world.... aren't you glad you got "equality" so you can work too??

    Religion is a necessary evil.

    Religion is societal control.

If you're weak minded enough to fall into the lines of following religion, then it is a good thing because it gives you a structured environment because you're incapable of making decisions yourself.

This is what Islamic Radical pray on, people of not the brightest minds and are highly influentiable due to the violence they've already seen can be coaxed into becoming human bombs.

Like it or not but the vast majority of humans are essentially cattle, non self-deterministic people of the masses that require structure and being told without question what to believe. People can and are on a daily basis trained by those who are smarter / more corrupting then they are, look at Hitler in the past, he basically goose stepped the army till they couldn't think anymore and it was just "natural" to them. Even though it is a completely insane way of marching, it was effective in control.

People like to conform, while I agree with the poster in that people shouldn't be allowed to force their kids into this brainwashing, I also must disagree as I see some of the values the church teaches being benficial.

For back reference, I went through 12 years of my life in private Roman Catholic Schools. Am I religious? No. I was distant from my parents and only my mother was religious and I questioned every bit of it from day one. The generosity that our churches taught us as kids and some of the basic morals we're good to see re-inforced, look at the "10 commandments", they're all things that society as a whole does not agree with in general.

The group team environments are horrible, nothing more I hate in this world then working in an open room with a group of people. I like my privacy and quiet. I'm 2x as productive in my private office with my headphones on then I am in an open room. Team working doesn't work. Peer review every once in a while is good. Collaborative code environments are great, automated build & testing systems are great. Sitting next to a f'in moron who's going to ask me questions every 3 seconds... not good. But thats why you become team lead, and fire the morons.

Work from home? Yeah I did that before... wake up ... yawn .. look works here, going to sleep at night oh look works right here. It blurs the line between professional & personal lifestyles, which is not healthy at all. It saves on travel costs, but the productivity sucks and the professionalism goes way down hill. Move closer to work to save travel time & costs and still be productive.

I do no work from home anymore, I prefer to leave it at the office. My home computer is filled with recreational material not .NET & PHP everywhere.

Back to coding tools to help my minions work faster & smarter, I still need to strangle the idiot consultants that keep wanting to add 3rd party tools to my workflow. Why have developers on staff if you're going to outsource the world.

"maybe one day make methane" on the moon... ok so send every possible way of making methane up there and have one of the astronaunts test the idea

Drop off a lunar rover etc..., how about dropping off something to grow plants in to make some food? Something to make oxygen?
