I cannot stand EW. I think she is a horrible, opportunistic politician (I know I repeat myself) - but I agree with this - and hope she pushed all the past Farm Machines and make it for everyone...
I disagree with you completely with regards to the cutting corners on safety and private operation of the plants. However I completely AGREE with you on the point if they can't run it on their own without handouts then it truly is a government operation anyway so the government should be in charge,.
Uber's lack of problem with double dip Lyft drivers becomes much clearer now - if the driver is driving for both services -e.g. Lyft and Uber - then they look more like they are providing a service vice being an employee.
Although I disagree with the thin edge of the wedge, I think I over reacted to your post. I am pretty new to slashdot posting(I'm a posting leach - I read but don't contribute much), but I do apologize for it... I have enjoyed this honest exchange of opinion(forget about the lack of congruence)!
And I would rather be mocked than feared... heck I pretty much enjoy any attention anyway!
Now just wait a minute. I am clinging to the whole not being a suicide bomber = good behavior!!!! Don't take that away from me too!!!
Seriously though... I guess I get frustrated with always being labeled as a freak just because of my faith.
As to being despised and feared... well I never have been feared(except at a buffet maybe), but am normally despised because of my faith.
And you mention that the absence of a religion does not a rational person make, but too often the presence of religion labels us as nuts.
No, I don't feel that the law should be employed to make people believe like me. If that is your way to bring people in, you're screwed. You can't legislate morality/religion/belief. Just wont work.
But at the same time, teaching Creationism as a counterpoint to evolution doesn't harm anybody. Especially if it is an elected group of people pushing this who are representing those who elected them. Or even better, present Creationism as a counterpoint, but without the same hours requirement. No need to spend equal time (seriously - God made it, it's what creationist believe, shouldn't take more than an afternoon to discuss and move on) but it allows another viewpoint to be presented. There's no need to try spend an equal amount of time to invalidate evolution. Even I believe in the adaption of species, and survival of the fittest, but not as an origin of man. Learning is the exposure to multiple viewpoints, and be able to assemble information from multiple sources.
laugh away. Of course if we were Muslim you would be afraid. If we were budhist you would think we were enlightened. But We are just some hick bible thumpers so laugh away. Nothing to see here.
By remanding powers to the states that which is not in the constitution, it allows the states the right setup their own education systems. Don't believe in creationism/intelligent design? If you can't affect the local government, you can always move to a state that supports such beliefs. It was one of the things that made the country great. We didn't use to be this homogeneous mixture of sameness. There were radically different beliefs across aspectrum of ideas that were delineated by state borders. People of certain beliefs were able to affect the government policy that mattered locally. Now everything has to be the same...
But my experience with this has been absolutely fantastic on my IBM T61... It is way faster than it ever was with XP, and the 3d effects and AWN work great, along with Asterisk running in the background...
Yeah - sure stinks they would put the latest version of firefox that is most effective instead of going with the non beta version.
Im sure the firefox team wont ever take it to production and 8.04 wont update to include it.
Everybody that begs Linus to stick with one distro doesnt seem to understand that it is the freedom to add your own personality via the distro that makes it great. Maybe there should be only one type of car out there in one color??
Google calendar users don't show up in the GAL so they can't be auto selected for the slower users. Google calendar and mail can't access the GAL so you have to memorize all of your organizations email addresses. And most corporate users (who use Exchange anyway) wouldn't want there users using a public mail service...
I would have thought that web was a place for people of all sorts to come forth with ideas of all sorts... the good ones should rise to the too like cream and the rest should end up going to Jessica Simpson...
Why would it have to? Microsoft is already succumbing to the affects of their bloat... Linux is steadily increasing both in the server and desktop market, and all without any help from the government...
No I am not kidding at all. What does your life ammount to? I mean really... what can you accomplish? I think this would be a wonderfull shot to make a great contribution to society, to spaceflight, and would be one hell of an adventure... not original because of the TV show, but still awesome!
For chance to have such a direct hand in the exploration of space I would go in an instance... and I would take my whole family with me as well. I would provide not one but two generations, and if you send some women with us, we could colonize quite quickly!!

I can't see how this isn't considered a bribe...
I think you have too many hands
Glenn Beck and Bill O'Reilly have never positioned themselves as Journalists, and never have positioned themselves as neutral.

Google Voice on your android phone lets you do that no problem
Except he was not in public, he was inside a story, which is private property, and rules are different.
It even had a tram in it like in WOW...
