Does the national guard come in to kick them out? What happens if say Irish people in Ireland picket the golf course and shut it down. Does US retaliate against Ireland because they did not do enough to protect Trump assets? We are in unchartered territory, frankly banana republic kinds of problems. Historically presidents have put their assets in blind trusts so they could not know if policy was going to influence their wealth. There is no way a Trump can do this because the asset is the name. Already we have the unprecedented action of putting dump trucks with sand around TT. Will those dump trucks be there for 4 years on 5th ave in Manhattan?

No GM is going to focus on making an all electric car that makes money, including R&D costs. So its ok to sell them in places that do not offer carbon credits. GM will get a benefit in the CAFE calculation no matter where the car is sold in the US. So I don't expect GM cares if the Bolt is only barely profitable. I still wonder how viable electrics are. A corolla gets 40 Hwy, has a 13 gal tank (call it 500 mile range) for less than 20K. Gonna be hard to beat.
Of course they will use the credits, who wouldn't. They might even get in the biz of selling excess credits themselves if the have enough demand for Bolts. The value of the credit is whatever someone is willing to pay for them. They have no intrinsic value so I have no idea what you mean by pennies on the dollar.
But I can tell you did not read the linked article. GM plans on selling the cars in california & oregon THIS year, and selling them nationwide next year. Are you saying if someone in North Dakota wants to buy a Bolt next year, GM will not sell it to them? Now you are talking crazy.

Except the utility is run by the city of austin, about as green as you can get. Frankly I'm baffled. On the one hand they offer incentives to install solar and other hi eff appliances. Shoot the city mandated an energy audit as part of any real estate sale. On the other hand, they (city) decide to abandon net metering. I've told everyone DO NOT BUY SOLAR. You just can't predict how the city will unilaterally adjust the program next. It would not surprise me if they drop the value of solar gen to 2c/KWH. I think that is what they pay wholesale for most of their generation. So "I" become just another wholesaler. At that point I will ungrid the system and have it power some outlets directly though.
Depends how your utility operates. AE changed from net metering to sell all solar production to utility at X cents/KWH and buy all energy consumed from utility at a variable rate. It is actually possible to owe the utility money even though you produced more than you consumed. Does not happen unless you have a big panel set. But usage over 1000 KWH/billing cycle lands you paying more for energy than you get. In other words, you pay a couple of cents/KWH for power your panels produce. And they keep reducing what they pay me for my solar production AND increase the rates for what I pay them for energy. I feel violated....
Well I read TFA and it is suspicious. When the info came "out", the server was shut down AND a new server suddenly appeared and only one entity knew the name to look it up by, Alfa bank. It sounds like somehow the TeaLeaves guy has access to the DNS server logs (root servers) and so he/she is not looking at ISP data but the lookups. Since only one entity knew the name to lookup, it smells pretty bad for Trump. The article is long and detailed so I don't expect almost anyone to actually read it. The best way I can explain it is if I register a new name blahblahblahblah.com, and only one IP ever does a query to get the IP address of blahblahblahblah.com, then somebody had to tell me the name. No way is that random.

How things have changed. In the 90's I went to a startup (sw) and we had offices, all of us. The company we left had switched from offices to cubicles. And in keeping with true PHB mentality, the prior company had taken a poll if we wanted to stay in offices or switch to cubes. They pinky-swear promised they would do what the employees wanted. Of course the employees overwhelmingly voted for offices and when the results came in, the PHB's said we "know" you really wanted cubes, soo they went to cubes.
The unknown is always the issue. I had my fence replaced awhile back and moved it a bit along the back. So the pipe locating people come out and mark everything. Fence guys get started. Halfway thru as they are digging new holes along the back, I get a knock at the door. "We found something that was not marked". All work stops for about a day while the locator guys are called back, they trace the new unmarked pipe and after a few hours determine it is an abandoned pipe for ? and continue. So fence guys end up eating a day from a unmarked pipe. There are alot of pipes under the ground.
I need to introduce you to my broker. He always tells me to get into the stocks and indexes that just did well. Of course he also always says past performance is no guarantee of future results. All these models (climate, stock, economic etc) are great until they don't work.
The government took prudent action in denying bail until more info is discovered. If all the guy did was bring classified home to work at home, he'll get a good slap of a year in prison or something along those lines. But if he really did or plan to deliver classified to a foreign country, the limit is death. I worked at a defense contractor at one point and they made it crystal clear the death penalty is on the table if you start spying for other countries.
While most of the people on his site are likely to prefer dumb tv's, most of the non-techies I know are lucky if they can plug a tv into the wall and hook it up to cable or an antenna.
