I've never taken the requirements seriously, except when it comes to video cards. As long as you have 256MB of RAM and a decent card-last year or so- it should be fine.
Closed-source software. I'm not trying to be a troll, but in a few years--or decades-- just about everything will be open-source. Either that, or everything will be in encased, kiosk-like, un-hackable, un-moddable, Windows Embedded PCs.:shudders:
It's part of the whole Palladium, MSIE, world-domination thing. Nobody ever publishes anything that's anti-M$, ever. And those who do, quickly: 1.Lose readers, 2.Get fired, or 3. are "disappeared". What a country
iPod - Oh, there were MP3 players long before that.
OSX - BSD had been around for quite some time.
iTunes - I could start the list with MusicMatch Jukebox and go from there.
The stuff Apple is doing isn't any more ground breaking than the stuff MS is doing. It's just viewed through a bunch of people wearing rose-colored glasses, unfortunately.
Hmm....
iPod-- First mp3 player to feature that much space in such small size. Only mp3 player with potential for being a PDA
OSX-- Name an easier to use GUI running on BSD
iTunes-- First and most successful online music store
Who's wearing rose-colored glasses now? Go and drink some more of Bill Gates' magic kool-aid
You're shitting me. Most hackers and geeks would love nothing more than to get all of those good games ported over to linux. Consoles just plain suck, even with online support. It sucks having to switch to my windows machine to test my latest battlefield 1942 mod. If game developers made more linux games, many people who are thinking about switching but cant due to the lack of games, would join tux in his quest for liberation from M$. If the year of the Desktop finally arrives, it will be taken as a queue to start making desktop games for linux. Until then, all I can do is hope.
That's only the beginning. Imagine, 40-90 years from now, with Wi-Fi enabled nanobots, M$ can offer them as a wireless, always-on internet and computing solution. Until someone tries to switch to linux, then the nanobots will be programmed to kill the host and make it look inconspicuous, like a stroke. The Feds will pay M$ to monitor everyone, all the time, by seeing what we do through our eyes. Entire political scandals could be erased from people's memory by having the bots alter brain cells, and of course the entire thing would be DRM-ed, closed-source, and unhackable in any way. Thta's a litttle too Orwellian for my tastes.
I'm a liberal and fully accept the second Amendment. But I think that Republicans and democrats both have problems, so I feel the only answer is a People's Revolution, in which outdated systems such as the Electoral College will be removed, replaced by a direct vote, and free healthcare will be provided to all!
Liberals and conservatives have changed views so much I don't know what's what, so I'll just say my opinions. Parent groups hoping to get this game banned are Republican dumbasses who can't control their own snotty, rich spoiled, teenage jock kids and thus feel that the government somehow owes them.
Everything is a freedom of speech. There is no specification in the Bill of Rights and I don't care what the Supreme Court says. VC can say "kill the Haitians" all they want as long as nobody actually kills one due to this.
This is just more shit being fed to our children, having the government limit their thoughts in an Orwellian style. Children have the right to be homosexual, or to kill virtual Haitians, or to disagree with the government. This is the idea of America, an idea that is being fucked up by everybody. That's my two cents.
The fact is that the RIAA is too strong. We need more individual artists in the field. Filesharing is the first step in a protest, evnethough it's not legal. I use iTunes, because it's good, and their softcore DRM doesn't bother me, but I hate giving money to the RIAA. I'll pay an artist themselves for their music, but I'm not paying a dummy organization that pretends to care about musicians but instead takes their hard-earned money for themselves. We need another format of the music business that is different than the RIAA. Maybe a place where everyone is an individual artist, and songs are put downloaded in an open-source client, with shareware music, and artist getting paid through Paypal. Of course, I'm still hung over from my new year's partying, so this may be nonsense.
"Don't gloat too long, either... who knows whether 10.5 will still be better than Longhorn?"
Why worry about that, when 10.3 is already better than Longhorn? Expose, for one thing is the technology most anticipated for M$ to copy from Apple in Longhorn. And Longhorn is going to be much more like Mac OS, as Billy G. said. But why do that, when Mac users already have had Quartz for years?
for "erotic" scifi? Possibly with demonstrations?

Just treat it like you would a CD. But don't put it in your burner, unless you like fried USB.
Having my Sims battle Spiderman.

Isn't that a pretty commonly used font on all platforms? Not every Mac has TNR on it, and I'll never put IE there, even if it means getting it.
How come when I search for the location of "Hot single geek chicks" there are no results found, huh? Not good enough for me.
THIS IS PURE FLAMEBAIT

You could also use adblock, which blocks specific images and .swf files. Get it at http://adblock.mozdev.org/dev.html#Install
Stupid ass browser, changing to HTML automatically!!! THe spacing came out all fucked up!!

Why did I waste all my mod points on that goatse.cx post? I would give this a +5 Interesting
My mistake. I meant PhrostyMcByte (mIRC@adsl-209-14-65.microsoft.com) "I love Microsoft. Linux sucks"
If only this were IRC, I could whois you and get "PhrostyMcByte "I love Microsoft. Linux sucks!!"

Just what we need, lag in full virtual reality.
Imaginge how that'll turn out.....
Nothing is really good or bad, it's simply popular or unpopular

Democrats would never take him.
Parties confuse me a lot, so I'm sticking to the original, Colonial-age, anti-Federalists.
