Adding OGG support would be more than enough to convince me to buy an iPod. I can't really see the downside except for increased strain on the system memory, if what the article claims is true.
I just googled the guy's name and got nothing that said that he had been "disciplined for gross negligence, for failing to timely submit a client's claim for refund of overpayment of taxes, and for practicing as a CPA without a permit".
Maybe they changed things in an effort to stop the lawsuit, which, btw, is one worthy of SCO-like fame.
No, it's Apple's software for small bands that has a library of sounds that you can mix and mess with, instead of having to buy instruments. Pretty good deal for $99, IMO, except most ppl don't know about it.
does such a small update merit a/. story? Are we doing this everytime Apple releases a small patch? If we did this everytime M$ released a patch,/. would completely crash.
but KDE is already enabled on most installs, so why even bother with this? We need to standardize the KDE interface now, or else the Windoze n00bs, 97% of the world, will never even think about switching.
Exactly. Why pay when part of your money is going to the destruction of your OS? The same thing happened when Office and IE were first announced for the Mac. Eventually, though, you get used to it, hence more people buying Office for the Mac. Good to see the Mac gamer's jihad (no relation to antislash) actually lasting for awhile, instead of just giving in. Don't really know how it'll change things, though.
Didn't we already do this before in the 60's? And hasn't such research been done on human misions? What's the big deal? It looks like NASA is just fishing for publicity.
I agree, this is just NASA's latest attempt to buy "innovation", a la M$, except that NASA is hardly successful. I see this X Prize thing going nowhere in a few months.
I think it's pretty good that non-digital formats are dying out, but we have to worry about hyper-DRM and the ever-annoying DMCA. This will annoy everyone and make some switch to P2P. In the end though, when KaZaA is shut down, we'll still have IRC, so I'm not worried.
Well, it really feels more like a war is going, as opposed to a gang jumping on top of a single guy every now and then.
If you don't mind people farming factional NPCs to their heart's content, then you'll be fine.
I suggest you wait a few more months before coming back, as that's when the REALLY big patches will be coming in.
I noticed Canada isn't on there. :)
I, for one, welcome our new heavily-accented clone overlords.
You're thinking of the wrong Snake.
What I meant was that there's no law against carrying your bare hands around.
If I wanted to, I could use my bare hands as weapons. Don't tell me the police have some sort of law against that.
Will it be able to work with other bluetooth devices, such as keyboards? I realize I'm stretching it a bit, but it might be possible.

EIN office suite,
EIN browser,

Neo-Nazism reaches another milestone.

does any of that stuff really have anything to do with a tech conference?
on any non-M$ OS. Shame, too, I really liked the format.
Doesn't moderating something OVERRATED require that post to have been moderated or replied to at least once before?

That's more or less it. I wanted to know when Oo could be made to run on OSX without X11. Why was my post modded offtopic?
when will we get a port of Open Office that runs natively and not on X11? That will truly be a good day for all.
I've wanted multitasking since I got my palm! Pocket PC users get it, why can't we? One less thing for the PPC crowd to brag about!

Can you imagine a beowulf cluster of those?
In Soviet Russia, a G5 RUNS YOU on Gentoo!

A slashdot subscription?
How about some RAM?
