.. yeah, so when will they be programmed to not blind oncoming drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians. So far, any improvement I've noted in headlight technology is wasted by the fact that none of the new headlights seem to be illuminating the road, instead we're getting an illumination arms races because headlights are making it hard for anyone (other traffic, travelling in opposite directions) to see where and what they're doing.
I dunno, the HTML5 feature in my Chrome is so CPU intensive that html5 video stops & stutters constantly. I had to disable html5 in Chrome just to be able to use the utoobz HTML5 isn't old-hardware-friendly. Nevermind that Google keeps taking the useful (for me) features out of chrome.
How smart is it to essentially Privatize Currency? Electronic money isn't handled by the people for the people, for public good. It's private global corporations using proprietary *everything*, with what's essentially a local exchange rate rate to you/me/us that's always to their own benefit. Electronic money is just trading power for convenience.
What's with the "cloudflare" website middleman stuff? Kind of feels like someone's breaking net neutrality. I can't read the link unless I go through a middleman SSL & whatnot?
But I like *real* books! You don't need any hardware in interface with them! You just read them! Why add levels of abstraction & complication to something, in a short-sighted attempt to *ahem* re-monetize them? You don't even own e-books, you just lease/rent them. This is really just an attempt to kill the used book market, as iTunes is an attempt to kill the physical recorded media market. They want to take away your ability to own *anything*.
Well, it sure doesn't render worth a damn in my preferred browser (FF) and it eats so much CPU as to nearly freeze my computer. What's with all the scripts? Only renders correctly in Chrome, for me, and yet Chrome has so many functionality & layout design oddnesses that I hate to use it for anything other than utter necessity.
So. Why do website such as slashdot need periodic redesigns? I certainly see nothing that was absolutely necessary. And now the pages look like sh!t.
The theory that they are using is that the influence of gravity cannot penetrate a super-conducting object. The "only" thing that can completely block a magnetic field is a superconductor. So someone theorized that maybe a superconductor can block gravitons (if light can be either/both a particle and a wave, so can gravity). Also did you realize that the influence of gravity only travels at the speed of light? So if the rotating superconductor negates (or lessens) the influence of gravity *above* it, there will be a pressure differential between upper and lower surfaces, with net force being upwards (ie greater affect within an atmosphere) will be a pressure differential
Hey, they're not GPS satellites, they're bankrupt communication satellites. Why would their positions be "super-critical" ? Downgrade the operational criteria, and donate control to some worthy group. OR do some real science with them. Hydrazine Thrusters? Put them into minimum energy trajectories to the permanently shadowed Lunar craters and watch the splash. With 66 successive events, you're going to determine (with good statistical probability) whether there's ice there or not. I'm sure some scientist could think of a use for a iridia (?) or two.
If they're going to de-orbit them just because they went bankrupt and don't wan't anyone to possibly benefit from their bankruptcy, I'd call that being a dog in the manger. If I was them, with a anarchistic streak, I'd open the channels and the encryption and say "Have at it!", letting all and sundry have use of the band-width. Maybe then someone would realize their value!
Hey, you could pre-order it from Amazon for 28$ American, or you could pre-order it from Chapters (Chapters.ca) for 28$ Canadian (~20$ US). Consider are statement against Amazon if you wish.
Lucas will release SW on DVD, but only after he re-edits it with more special effects and crap like that (even more so than the special editions). Fans will never see the originals on DVD, and from now on in Film History, Greedo shoots first, and misses.
GL forgetting who made him rich...

So when do the star wars fans who made GL such a rich man get the films they waited 16 YEARS for? I seem to recall in the pre-TPM days someone from Lucasfilm saying that the new movies would be darker and more mature.
PS one of the reasons I dislike the jar jar thing is that I could not understand what it was saying.
Teh google captchas are horribly browser specific.
(hopefully I have now waited long enough to hit submit)

So, can someone remind me why Amazon doesn't sell new cars yet? Or would that only happen if they had their own brand ?

Geebus, FORTRAN is a great language well suited for a specific job. Just deal with it and practice your FORTRAN programming.

Saying the 1800s implies a date from 1800 to 1809. You should have said late 19th Century, or at least "from around the 1870s".

I can't get the Sci-Fi channel in Canada.
