Invest in TV over Internet. Roku is excellent. Between Hulu Plus, Amazon Prime, and Netflix, you have everything you need plus a database "Can I stream it?" app for ios or tv.com to look it up.
Don't forget Vudu disc to digital allowing your DVDs to be stored in the cloud if it's in their database.

The Daily had OK content. But they did not understand the web. More than once, I took advantage of their trial period, would read a little bit of the daily paper, only to find that the next one had been delivered erasing the previous content. There was no archive, despite continual promises to add one. I told them I would subscribe as soon as they added this feature.
Also, why did they require an app to get the content? That meant it wasn't linkable, was restricted to only one device, and couldn't easily be shared.
Is this a public institution? They are making the claim that it disrupts the learning environment because that is the standard required under Tinker vs. Des Moine School District, but they are wrong. "A student's rights do not end at the schoolhouse gates".

I am a freelance computer consultant like many of you. I had a client the other day that had a windows 2000 system she picked up as a donation. She had forgotten the administrator password. I backed up her data using Acronis (no encryption), installed Lbuntu (a special distro for older systems), gave her a wireless dongle, extracted her files on a windows box, and moved them over to her Linux system.
As it turned out she was already using OpenOffice. She was of a certain socioeconomic status where this made sense, and now she no longer had to pay for her operating system either.
More importantly, I'm not pro-Linux or a Linux expert. I installed Red hat so many years ago, it was ok, but not great.
This time when I installed an Ubuntu derivative, there was technical support in terms of documentation, IRC, and forums and I used all three.
The point is: Linux is great for older systems, great for people who can't afford Windows and Office, and is well-supported.

Phoneview (mac) from ecamm software will archive voicemails and texts, or she can drop her iphone off at the police station.. they can get it off. I believe there's one called iphone explorer for the PC
Good luck.
I was doing a major project in OpenOffice Base a while back, because that was what was specified. Trouble was it wasn't stable.. at least not on my Mac. How can I trust software that crashes? With no respect lost to the open source community, I did a substantial amount of work in OpenOffice Writer and in Abiword on my PC (Windows) without too much trouble.
Using a CMS will allow him to use the CSS customizations he loves, and javascript as well, while giving the architect something they can maintain after he's gone. Many drupal developers now prototype in drupal gardens (drupalgardens.com) exporting it when they're done or have reached the limit of the hosted environment.
Either way, lynda.com has tutorials on the three major CMSes (wordpress, joomla, and drupal) as well as how to choose.
Dreamweaver is a useful tool, but CMSes are a much better way to go.

You clearly need an image based backup system to prevent this from happening again. It needs to be a chron job (or task scheduler) and run on regular intervals when storage is available. ideally, it needs to be network storage, so that a sudden disconnect (abscence of power) cannot easily corrupt the backup.
There is an open source version of Ghost, partd, rsync.. options for you, though I am relatively new to linux so I don't know what the appropriate option is for you.
Time machine you could use if you had a separate partition, but I think that isn't what you want.
also, fundamentally writing to one partition from three OSes is asking for trouble.
This is exactly the problem that Clicker solves. It bills itself as the TV guide for the web. www.clicker.com
The downside is it doesn't always index all the services right after they get a film. so even if it says no, still look and see.

Mac OS X has built-in encryption (called File Vault), built-in VPN (managed in the network control panel), and one-click VPN configuration files for your users to click on. A tool called Automator which surprise automates things even if you don't know applescript.
If you don't give them administrator access, most things are locked down anyway.

P.S It is not quite as good as windows policies.
sorry, this is a dangerous thing to say when people who are legitametely bipolar may not take their medications because of things like that that you say.
I have experience with this.
* ADD drugs and stimulants can cause bipolar in people that are genetically predisposed or overdose, or anyone really. This is a fact of the way stimulants work and ramp up the nervous system.
* Beyond that, although Seratonin syndrome is arguably real, it is also rare. Marijuana beyond that is dissociative, and produces states that is not going to be helpful to anyone who is manic and prone to delusions.
Thanks.
It sounds like what happened in your case is you had a bad doctor, bad coordination. But many people with bipolar disorder say they were misdiagnosed, and that the drugs make them ill ("poisons", "brain atrophy") and other ridiculous stuff dreamt of by quacks like Peter Breggin. Look him up on wikipedia. Psychiatry is full of unconstitutional and dangerous treating behavior, but the science is solid, and marijuana is not a treatment, and the other drugs are.
You should do what's required to make your stuff work. Ask for credit later. Document it and do it right. Writing scripts is part of the job, and reducing burden for your team is also part of your job.
While I am glad that the online safety scanner can now clean infections, and will probably consider it in the future, it isn't a very widely used tool because of the windows live branding, rather than as a Microsoft product. Trend Micro Housecall has been around for longer. I wish more antivirus's would scan for lack of service packs or security vulnerabilities.
It is the RAM that's slowing you down. RAM is cheap. Do you think you could persuade IT to provide an upgrade?
K-Melon is another obvious suggestion.

I don't think it's cute. I think it is an abridgment of the 1st amendment. And that is the scariest thing. Scarier than Guantanamo Bay. Keep in mind that the constitution has only been suspended during times of war. It is not to be permitted, not then and not now.
It isn't their first Mac app. They've been selling it to businesses before now, but businesses don't generally use Time machine, and would never execute a deletion command using an antivirus on a backup archive while it was running. Not sure whether this is an OS bug, or a sophos bug, or whether if he had allowed the command to finish, it would have worked fine. (Maybe it was just taking a long time.)

Which encrypted apps? Is there a PGP for SMS?

It supports LTE, but not on any networks used in the US.
Have you contacted technical support? Have you gone to an AASP?

Take it back. Isn't there something wrong with the hardware if a new computer is kernel panicking/BSODs?

Because Åpple provides drivers for windows under boot camp, including for the retina display. I do recommend using virtualization instead though.

I'm confused. Your device is covered under warranty if it broke after three weeks. Use it.
