However there should be consistant rating applied over all media and restrict it all in a similiar fashion. And apply it to everything, ugh. I have a DVD catalog of 1000's of titles only a small fraction of which are rated.

How they seperate movies/games is kinda off now anyways. How many games contain a movie (clip)? How many DVDs contain a game? I know i have a few of both. Not to mention the latest trend of the unrated DVD version being a selling point now. How does that fit into everything?

Our 1st accounting system was on a Wang 2200 in BASIC-2. Like 10MB (in 32k or less bits and pieces) of code in 1980! Awesome system, nearly as good as our current stuff. I used to mod the code (yup, even included rights to do that) for reports but the database and disk write stuff was way over my head. Really snazzy tricks for compressing stuff etc, 10 years of data on a 13 MB platter :)

Our current one is no doubt in a 'better' language. Of course it doesn't have a much better interface (and only cause you throw 1000 times the horsepower at it), is missing a key feature the other had, has annoying inconsistancies, and cheesy support. Even the most minor change would cost $800 and up(don't print the address here!)since i cant fix it myself. Both were about $40k worth of software.
