I looked at quake but it wouldn't have been til end of the year.
We were playing the OTHER one and wondered if i should switch to quake . Some buddies from Lazerquest would come over to the office afterwards and frag for a couple more hours playing SKYNET on the office LAN. Don't be the last one there or you got the 486 and were the sitting duck:) We stuck with SKynet til quake2 and mods caught our interest. Quake actually seemed a little tame to us;) Both were actually great cutting edge stuff for the day.
Not sure which actually got out the gate 1st, SKYNET shows as a 1996 release and i bought at retail very near release. Too bad it doesnt run on newer boxes, yes i tried recently:) One of my all-time fav games. One of very few blurbs i found about Skynet: http://www.sonicstadium.org/board/index.php?showto pic=17325
Not in lower resolutions, nor in a smaller windows on mine (older firefox)
The scroll bar is broken. I had to remove the always on top setting on the windows bar to see the last line of text.
anyways, who cares
hehe if it can't go in an email i am using a real phone** If it is like everything else lately it will probably just function enough to say it functions. Does anything actually work good anymore?
hehe, just had the same problem trying to cancel Netzero.
I even asked if they had been bought by AOL;) Took several "I just wish to cancel"s before they got the idea. Even said the new laptop now has EVDO,WIFI,and an ethernet cable it doesnt need dialup which we havent used in months anyway. Then they suggested a backup plan for $5 a month. Then....blah blah blah
Did have em down to $5 a month and a free month of service before i finally got it canceled.
Amazing that companies will lower your rate if you complain/cancel.
BTW folks, complain about your maintance rates for you mailing machine if your in charge of that;) 1st guy on phone had alot more leeway than i expected!
Then your 9-year-old will probably rent the movie next door at blockbuster;p
If they made a short movies and include the game on the DVD as an extra it would be saleable?
Seriously, there probably isnt anything wrong with not being able to sell mature or adult content to kids. However there should be consistant rating applied over all media and restrict it all in a similiar fashion. And apply it to everything, ugh. I have a DVD catalog of 1000's of titles only a small fraction of which are rated.
How they seperate movies/games is kinda off now anyways. How many games contain a movie (clip)? How many DVDs contain a game? I know i have a few of both. Not to mention the latest trend of the unrated DVD version being a selling point now. How does that fit into everything?
"The suit claims that MySpace doesn't verify a user's identity or age and doesn't do enough to protect users."
Dont they tell kids not to meet ppl or give out info? Isn't that more than most forums.
So if MySpace had verified his age and id it would be ok to met him and get date-raped? It never said how old or who he was supposed to be other than high school. So if he was a year or two younger (assuming he is not actually a hs student) it would be ok then ?!?
It is not like MySpace claims to be a kids only dating service or something. Whats diferent than any other forum? or the mall? or ?
Why no info about charges and stuff in article? seems a little fishy
Not to mention why is someone filing a suit always news lately. For all we know it will be thrown out the 1st time a judge sees it.
Exactly how then does the store that sold me the CD pay its rent/employees? It may not (or it may for all i know) be the highest profit margin business but is certainly way above the 0% you just used!
Everyone now has all the music downloaded they could ever want to listen to:)
Dslreports just linked the story to a top 100 list (or something) from piratebay. I had no idea. Mostly they were huge compilations. 500M - 2G at a pop times 100 files times hundreds(or more) of downloads sounds like ALOT of music to me just from piratebay. Interesting much of it was old including a couple 60's top 100 files.
Got to be some. Not really up on current ones but...
I know the 1st couple years i played Asheron's call i bought MAYBE 4 games a year instead of 12. Spent $240 but saved over $320 and probably twice the number of hours gaming, a good deal.
When i played Motor City Online i only bought 1 other race game that year instead of several.
I wonder if sales overall dropped the month after EQ expansions came out in its heyday?
If that repeats for some percentage of WOW gamers it's got to add up.
Half the office is still running win98se and office 97.
They use: basic Word functions very basic Excel spreadsheets Web Browser Publisher 98 for a couple forms a Form Designer program that is pre-windows! Accounting program 1 which is DOS also !! Accounting program 2 which is DOS (but requires Win cause the installer is Windows WTF!?!) Accounting program 3 which is on a unix server and requires a terminal emulator !!!
Nothing there can even USE more processing power to help it. Only a couple would even change under newer system. Why do i have to buy bigger boxes and new windows for?
oh wait, firewall/antivirus/antispam chokes the oldest boxes under the terminal emulator:(
Yup thats the only reason i can't redeploy the old p3-450 boxes.
WE've made a wonderful world where i can't reasonably emulate a DUMB TERMINAL under windows with less than 2Ghz of CPU:/;)
" The laptops will become bargaining chips. A goat for your laptop. "
OK, So be it then. It was a heck of a lot easier than mailing them the goat;) Besides now we got the hungry kid a goat and someone else a laptop... see everyone is happy and no one is fighting. Hey, we can all dream a bit, right?;)
Sorry , couldn't resist the image of mailing a poor family a goat:) Besides can i even order goats online.....ummm, wait...on second thought;p
Seems you can do some amazing things with any tool if you know what you are doing:)
Our 1st accounting system was on a Wang 2200 in BASIC-2. Like 10MB (in 32k or less bits and pieces) of code in 1980! Awesome system, nearly as good as our current stuff. I used to mod the code (yup, even included rights to do that) for reports but the database and disk write stuff was way over my head. Really snazzy tricks for compressing stuff etc, 10 years of data on a 13 MB platter:)
Our current one is no doubt in a 'better' language. Of course it doesn't have a much better interface (and only cause you throw 1000 times the horsepower at it), is missing a key feature the other had, has annoying inconsistancies, and cheesy support. Even the most minor change would cost $800 and up(don't print the address here!)since i cant fix it myself. Both were about $40k worth of software.
hehe, lost my train of thought somewhere in all that tho. Give a monkey a gold hammer doesn't make him a master carpenter.
"sure, but in your house, those things don't get up and float away when you're not looking:-)"
obviously you dont have a cat eh? hmm, shiny object...whack whack whack gone:)
Stubby screwdrivers are especially mystical, hehe
Good thing she doesn't get much use of the 3rd dimension, i'd never find anything. hehe, picturing the cat batting stuff around the space station makes a nice image but will she land on her feet:)
"But bottom line -- if you're not doing anything illegal you have nothing to fear from these microsoft programs, so quit complaining"
:(
sure, assuming the software is 100% accurate and bug-free.
You really make that assumption about MS software ?!?
I tend NOT to, sorry
SO if i don't agree to the new EULA (should be safe to assume it will be there) who do i call to get my money back?
:/
I am getting sick of this new habit of changing terms after i buy into something for pretty much anything anyone can apply it to
"It isn't audiophiles that listen to their music sitting in that chair in the perfect location for all the speakers, etc.

It's their friends when they come over the visit. (and not by choice)."
Doh, busted
hehe, vintage pioneer quad system and that is soo true
Sorry, i really tried and just came up blank.....no wait that was the censor you should see...oh nm
;)
:)
hehe just glad i was usually the only one with a camera at band camp
anyways, good luck with getting kids to not talk about camp. Complain about ppl talking behind your back and what do you suppose happens
That is almost as powerful as a PS3...

Do people really believe that the companies that pay up will instead get access to some magical high-speed internet lane that pops up overnight?
Or that the Telecoms would actually build such a lane? Ok, maybe if it could magically pop-up overnight but otherwise it aint gonna happen.
Exactly what do you believe?
Ok, i know we just discussed recently....
:O
yes and yes, it may well carry over past the orig game.
In fact, I saved money while paying for 2-3 monthly subscriptions
Not in lower resolutions, nor in a smaller windows on mine (older firefox)

Kid = Salesperson :)
;)
;p
:(
Sure the kids will come up with 20 ways around it but my salesmen won't think of any of them
I just think it would be great to suggest the boss go play golf where a salesman is playing hooky
hehe, i do the A/P and get to cut the check for 15 verizon phones, got to be an up side somewhere
We all know:
In Soviet Russia the TV watches YOU.
In a sentimental nod to the cold war we have to one up them thus:
In New USA the TV watches YOU in the DARK
All those dark living/bedrooms are boring to monitor don't ya know
So the first eyeball they cook is just the warning eh?
:)
sorry , couldn't resist
c'mon parent can get at least one funny mod
"Fifth, you want your cat to enjoy TV more."

Awww, see now i can convince the Significant Other to let me get the new TV
Thanks
