Gore needs to let understand we have plenty politico BS attached to this topic already.
There may perhaps be no 100% conclusive evidence that global warming is real, but there's enough evidence of the possibility of it. Why wait for it to be proven for certain? Like another poster wrote, we don't have a control group of 100's of other earth's to test our theories.
So yes, the data is all correlative, and yes, there's a chance global warming is a farce. But seriously, why chance it? The US has invaded Iraq on less conclusive evidence.
Fact: Average temperatures are on the rise I even recall my childhood, growing up in the 1980's, that there was a lot more snow and ice in the winter time than we have today in Vancouver. You'd be blind not to notice these changes.
Given these two facts, which might not conclusively indicate we're harming our environment, should we not take measures to curb the damage we may be doing? It's not "the American Way" and the "God Given Right" to drive large SUV's, as Dubya would suggest. Seriously, the best way to curb greenhouse gasses - raise the national average vehicle fuel economy.
Umm... the SCOTUS can declare anything repugnant to the Constitution unconstitutional. It is their job.
Hmmm... Those appointed by the office of the President are going to overturn laws introduced by the office of the President? I don't think so. Nay, they'll find ways to fit the laws into the context of the constitution, rather than overturn them.
i hope that's not google's fate, but to my eye they do seem to be headed for disaster. they have the arrogance of microsoft without the sticky monopoly to back it.
Agreed. People speculate about this "google os" thingy that'll be entirely web based.
If google was heading in that direction, wtf did they buy picasa and hello, and why did they create google talk - none of which are web based. Sure, Picasa integrates nicely with Blogger, but wtf is Hello.com for?
I'm with you - I think Google's headed for disaster if they keep spreading themselves out like this. I think the analysts are dead wrong.
ink that Google is targeting MS Windows and fleshing out their applications suites before they push for launching a user space or OS type web project.
If that was the case, they wouldn't have invested in:
Picasa
Hello
Desktop Search
Google Toolbar
If Google was so serious about everything being web based, why invest in Picasa???
I don't think even Google knows the direction they are taking. IMHO, I truly believe Google has lost some perspective and has branched into too many directions. Expect earnings warnings from Google as more businesses enter in the online advertising business and put the squeeze on Google.
I hereby give you permission. Go for it. Careful - the US is a land of litigious bastards, and you might just find yourself with an accessory to murder charge:)
You just need to disclaim all liability in a 1.5pt unreadable font to be absolved of liability haha...
An OS that's had an official version of Java for a very long period of time, and has a plethora of desktop software unavailable to PC-BSD.
Note that only some of the software out there runs under Linux emulation mode./me = big fan of BSD on the server, however for the desktop - it's not as usably as the Penguin.
Thing is, eBay tried to first crush Paypal with the ubiquitous bidpay. Recall the dismal failure that was.
eBay and PayPal are interesting markets; they succeeded with first past the post, and maintain a virtual monopoly because of the chicken / egg situation.
eBay: largest market to sell your stuff to. As a seller, that's where I want to go. As a buyer, I am most likely to find what I want on eBay, so that's where I go too. It's paradoxical now, and hard to break.
Paypal: Sure, as a seller, I can accept paypal or bidpay or google money transfer or whatever. Thing is, most all buyers out there have a paypal account, and I know with my paypal account I can buy almost anything on eBay. Again, paradoxical in nature.
Like all good business plans, copycats are ready to come out of the woodwork to compete. But in this case, how could they have possibly succeeded?
History says that if Google wants to succeed at beating paypal, they need to offer more than just a copycat service; a copycat service will almost certainly fail.
Ask a Chinese man what country is doing horrible as far as human rights is concerned and he might point you to the USA.
A chinese man has no relevance in the rest of the world, for a Chinese man only hears what his governement tells him. For reference see:
Tianenman Square
Tibet
Taiwan
Furthermore, in China, you simply do not speak out against the state for fear of retribution, as in most communist states.
In America, you are free to voice your opinion - you don't (usually) go to jail for it. Someone might call you "Anti-American", but that's about where it ends.
Can an chicken even come? I know an egg likely can't, but avians don't have intercourse the same way mamals do... Can a chicken even HAVE an orgasm?/me ducks for cover...
Seeing as though cartridge based wasn't part of the oringinal comment I counter that Pong was THE first console, released before the Fairchild Channel F.
Naw... I'll argue you'll find most people not playing the ads, and Google will have to adjust their strategy accordingly.
IMO, it's not a good move at all, advertisers won't go for it...
If you were watching a TV show, and it said "turn to channel 35 for great info on adult diapers", would you be as inclined to turn to channel 35? Perhaps if you were truly interested, but advertising isn't about that.
Exactly - prior art. Soda machines have had one-click purchases for years. The guys who hold the patent on pressing a button on a soda machine should sue amazon.
Oh wait, on Amazon you use a mouse to click, rather than pressing it with your finger... Oh wait, you press the mouse with your finger... I've just gone cross-eyed... =D

Fact: Polar Ice Caps are melting. New land - Hans Island is evidence of that.

which leads the holders to be far right or far left
Since when were the Repiblicans far right? A true party leaning to the right would lessen government regulations, not tighten them.
Since when were the Democracts far left leaning? I'd argue that they are more centerists than leftists myself...
The only difference is in how much incluence the religious groups have. That's about it.

Last genuinely funny games I played were the Monkey Island series of games. So this guy is certainly speaking a lot of truth.
I thought Postal 2 was pretty funny myself, although it was full of gore and violence ^_^
My favourite part was when you shoved the shotgun up a cat's ass before you shoot someone... Here kitty kitty kitty...
Nice screenshots I suppose, though they don't tell me all that much.
They tell you it runs KDE ^_^
Linux? What's Linux?
/me = big fan of BSD on the server, however for the desktop - it's not as usably as the Penguin.

Just a small note; I am Canadian. I have some Chinese friends.
Nice try though.
Difference is the US doesn't deny this to its citizens. A chinese person doesn't know anything other than what the Chinese government tells them.
You guys even re-elected Dubya knowing full well all of the BS that he's pulled.
And in the US, articles this one are available for you to read and form your own opinion.
Chinese don't have that option. Take a look at what Google Images host from:
google.cn
vs:
google.ca

Fortunately, Apple was kind enough to open source Darwin, but it didn't need to.
Apple has closed part of the Kernel now called XNU.
Is Apple kind, or are they just putting up a facade, closing the source where they see fit?
Can an chicken even come? I know an egg likely can't, but avians don't have intercourse the same way mamals do... Can a chicken even HAVE an orgasm? /me ducks for cover...
Repeat after me: Irony Is A Form Of Wordplay.
Not necessarily.
This kid has situational irony. Hell it's almost cosmic irony that this is...
Don't open e-mail attachments unless it's from sombody you know in real life.
That wouldn't have prevented the old "I Love You" virus.
Can you imagine much of a second hand market if there isnt even much of a first-hand one?
I can! (Neo-Geo, Sega Saturn, Turbo Grafx 16, etc...)
=D
(Here come the Sega Saturn Fanboys now to correct me haha!)
Seeing as though cartridge based wasn't part of the oringinal comment I counter that Pong was THE first console, released before the Fairchild Channel F.
There is a happy medium and Google has found it.

Clever joke...
Do a "server" install to avoid all the bloat, and you have a stable Debian system with up to date software.
Uhm, does Ubuntu use the Debian stable branch? It seems to me that "up to date" software and "stable Debian system" do not go together well no?
If you crash a Mitsubishi Fighter plane into a ship and break it in half, is that a divide by zero error?
:)
I don't get it. Maybe I'm just a dumbass
The ship divides by two. Where's the div/0 error? The plane is the numerator no? Seriously, I just don't get it?
