    Every Sunday I fire up my Quake2 Xatrix server to play with friends that live local.

    Afterwards we all meet in a local boozer ( The boozer (be warned - real shitty web site design)

    WELL! The discussions of the game get really heated "Camper" "No I wasn't, I had no health" "Yes you did, bloody camper" "No I didn't" "My mouse was playing up" "LAGGG" and are quite serious.

    Great fun :D

    Huh? Apache httpd gets attacked even though it has the market share of on-line web browsers... fortunately the attacks are looking for M$ IIS holes...

    ... all that time ago when SCO started this:

    1. Did they really think they had something?

    2. Was it a hope for IBM et al to buy them out and save a failing Company?

    3. Did M$ really engineer all this anyway?

    Whatever, but the last point is can a court, on whatever decision is reached now, actually stem the tide against this sort of action by large $$$$/££££ in the bank Companies deliberately trying to destroy a free (and perhaps better system), against an otherwise 'couldn't care less to who uses my code' attitude open source movement in the courts?

    IBM has money to oppose. What if they didn't and couldn't fight back for OSS? Who could fight the monopolies then?

    The next fight is these silly patents. I think that will be BIG trouble for all free people, let allow coders.

    Pompey is very similar to cockney - in fact, people often mistake a true pomponian accent for an East London one.

    I am in Pompey, England. I regularly deal with people in Montreal CA and East Hartford USA - big problem - with my English accent and the speed I speak, they just can't understand me - no matter how I try to speak.

    The usual fix normally ends up as an E-Mail.

    Too true - when the hardware support at my firm (UK) moved to Sri Lanka, everybody was advised to use the phonetic alphabet when making helpdesk calls - it really it a mess with these of-shore support desks for communication.

    Spend like 10 minutes explaining who you are.

    Terrorists also can cause a lot of damage, as most of the western world is now so reliant on networks/networking (Banking, ATM, news etc. etc.). I wondered a long time ago how soon it will be when the transatlantic cables are targets.

    ... all he has done is run an alogrithm that predicts 3,000,000,000 WinXP machines are all due BSOD at the same time, as opposed to the normal 'out of sync' crashes.
