If they're having trouble making unprotected left turns,
then perhaps they shouldn't have a drivers license.
Unprotected left turns are common in most places. In fact, left turn signals are usually installed based on traffic demand due to cost. So as mass transit and punitive city center tolls reduce traffic, expect to see less of them.
It's prevented terrorists from building and detonating a nuclear bomb.
Not really. Plans for nukes are all over the place. It's the cost of acquiring the rather exotic raw materials needed that has stopped anyone other than nations from building these.
It does. A small receiver structure supported by cables from the surrounding towers. It's difficult to see in TFA pictures. Maybe someone should go there and snap some more.
I don't know where you see that in my remarks. I don't want victims in the first place.
The defining factor is clearly not the number of guns.
Right. It's the culture. And in this country, we are multicultural. So what I want, the ability to settle differences peacefully, is not shared by my neighbors. They want payback for anyone who diss'ed them. I want to be secure in my person and property. But some people are looking at my stuff and figuring out how they can get some of it. Either under the cover of darkness, or the cover of government.
Now, if I bring culture up, I'm a fascist. But I'm not interested in forcing my culture on other people. I just don't want to have to adopt theirs. Live and let live. But be prepared to cross paths with the occasional person who doesn't share my values about peaceful coexistence. Others suggest that if we were mono-cultural we could own lots of guns and be like Switzerland. Nope. Not going to happen. And it really shouldn't either.
It's the politicians who oppose free [mental] health care and education
But that's just another form of forcing people to conform to a standard. And drugging/treating people who don't. Where does that stop? Do we really have to lobotomize the McMurphy's? Society said 'No'. And we closed the mental hospitals. And stopped rounding up the weirdos (people who don't share our culture).
I agree with the idea of some harm done in the past
So, generations of getting even for past transgressions instead of putting all that behind you and getting ahead? When one's identity is based upon victim-hood, this is what you get. And it's the anathema of sportsmanship. You went in knowing that there was a good likelihood of losing. You lost, you learn from the experience and carry on.
I dated a lady who I think was abused at a young age.
That's a tough one. Because people generally don't sign up for abuse like they do for little league. You can just shrug and say that's the way it is between weaker and stronger individuals*. You could expect society to step up and provide justice. But our society frowns upon 'white knighting'. Chad is owed what he wants. And everyone else will just have to sit back and pick up the pieces afterwards. Or you could hand individuals some mechanism, not dependent on physical strength, that could equalize the situation. I wonder what that might be.
Who's law? What is illegal in this country* may be SOP in other countries.
*And that doesn't mean is doesn't go on here. It just gets driven underground. Or managed to ensure 'compliance' while still slipping the politicians their cash. And having it go on in the shadows may be fa more ethically damaging than just making payoffs out in the open.
every maker of a piece of proprietary software has a monopoly on that software
It's called rent seeking. And I don't think Gates really missed it. He just tip-toed around his industries need to control supplies so as to maintain profits. Lest some governments wake up to that and implement taxes and regulations to discourage it beyond a reasonable return on investment
Heaven forbid we go to a VAT tax, where companies with zero cost products end up paying stiff taxes. Or patent/copyright terms are reduced to encourage competition. Or 'intellectual property' is assessed actual property taxes.
Just wash it once in a while.

I think I've seen this city.
Unexpected, erratic behavior is dangerous.
Come visit my town. Old people.

Use a bang path. And dial-up UUCP. And stay off my lawn.
I want to hear the Apollo 18 tapes.
however this isn't party or high-energy music
Not high energy? Ever listen to Wagner or Tchaikovsky?
Because it only takes one person digging around in their phone's innards to expose the spyware.
If you don't like Rap, you are not going to listen to it for hours until you realize its appeal.
If I there's rap, I'll just not play the game.
Anecdote: Some years ago, shopkeepers in a few cities hit upon a way to drive all the riff-raff away from their store fronts. Play classical music.
Rap is just the other side of this. If you want to attract scum and drive away paying customers, play rap.
What kind of flash would I have to use to illuminate a 500 meter object?

within the United States
How about pulling a copy off an overseas torrent site?
Donate it all to Americans for Tax Reform.
You want revenge,

As long as there are no tits, its OK.
Pokemon Go should be banned for having "battles" in public locations.
Not only this. But looking like Pikachu, I feel pretty intimidated.
Came to post this. Left satisfied.
Small's supporters need to come to his trial and sit in the gallery in zombie costumes.

a way for those in power to gain more money
I don't understand. Where's the money in you going outside and getting some exercise?
One of the good-old-boys DoD contractors thought they had the sole source contract for bid rigging?
