P.S. One can implement that also in C++ - see all the insanities TrollTech had to go into to do it in Qt. They use strings to identify methods during compile time, create class vs. method tables during link time and during run-time perform look-up on the table to identify the method's entry point.
What you're essentially talking about is reflection. Reflection is slow as balls. C++ is not slow as balls. Get it?
Chicago is actually a very reasonably priced place to live. You can still get a studio apartment in a decent neighborhood, near the L, for between $5-600.
Unfortunately, the el sucks. It's slow, late, and the riders are, well...
If you need to commute to downtown, Metra is a better choice, even if you live in Chicago.
Arlington, Texas, acknowledged that traces of a pharmaceutical were detected in its drinking water but cited post-9/11 security concerns in refusing to identify the drug.
Look. WHAT!??! What does 9/11 have to do with traces of LEGAL drugs found in drinking water??

Others have noted that Don is back on the air, but with regards to the grandparent's point: note that Don Imus was alive and well only until the advertisers pulled out their support -- *then* he was toast.
Unless the driver is one of those specific kinds of drivers that can run entirely in user space, you can't use drivers you compiled yourself because they are not digitally signed. Workarounds are to 1. press F8 every time you start Windows Vista or 2. pay $499 per year for a VeriSign code signing certificate and sign your code.
Total, unadulterated FUD. You can easily generate your own certificate (for free), add yourself as a trusted signer, and then self-sign your drivers.
I will shortly be doing the experiment and trying to convert an old PC to Vista (an old Dell with a 1.7 Ghz P4 that came with Win ME). I upgraded the ram to 768 MB when I upgraded it to XP SP2. It has a nice LCD monitor as of 3 months ago when the 17" monitor I got with my Win 95 box finally died.
At first, I thought this was going to turn out to be the "what's with you Mac fanatics?" troll post:)
As much as the people despised the Rockafellers and Fords of years gone by, they had the model right for company survival and growth. Keep it in the family,
You realize that the current Ford CEO, Bill Ford Jr., is part of the "Ford" family?
There were certainly DX4s though, where the CPU frequency was 3x that of the bus speed (why it wasn't the DX3, I don't know). Two possible reasons:
- "DX3" was already granted a worldwide copyright.
- Intel had just lost a trademark lawsuit against AMD, where AMD was saying you couldn't trademark an "obvious" number such as 486. Therefore they chose DX-*4* for a clock-*tripled* chip, as it was non-obvious.
You still have to pay commissions even if you're directly connected to the exchange.

Do you think huge companies just instantly vanish in some random event that nobody can predict?
Yes. During the "crash" a week or two ago, several stocks went to $.01.

And it's poking through my pants.

We have your mortgage payment history too...
Another option (and what I do) is get a virtual server with an extra IP address, and then assign this IP address to your home machine via VPN.

How much is that in days of Iraq war?
About one full year's worth, I gather.
All 126 possible FF1 party combinations

It lead to my purchase of a Laser 386SX [I couldn't afford the extra $300 for the DX (math processor)
You're thinking of the 486SX/DX. The 386SX had a 16-bit bus while the 386DX was 32-bit. Neither had a math coprocessor (the 387DX).

Seriously, is there a way to go back to the old layout?

There is no side of the moon that's permanently dark...
While that may be true, that does mean that the length of a day on the moon is ~14 days, with night being equally long.

Better question: What the heck is a dinosaur? I can't find a mention of them anywhere in my Bible.
Better check again.
Humans didn't "evolve" from anything, and certainly not apes. Give me a break!
