If you dont like the way windows groups things it is easy to turn off. Right click on an exmpty are of your start menu and access properties. Then go to the taskbar tab and uncheck "Group Similiar Taskbar Buttons".
As an ex-CS major let me tell you one reason people are leaving. Even though I plan on going into a CS related field the courses offered by my college (UCI) were very poor. Also there was no way to test out of redundant courses. Many of my classmates left for similiar reasons, and some even abandoned CS altogether as they weren't sure they would be able to compete with outsourcing and get a job
This is clearly not a next gerneration version of life. The point of life is not that every cell represents an organism, but that patterns can arrise or be designed that express complex behavior despite the fact that the rules underlying them are simple. The phenomena of simple rules leading to some amazing patterns is what made life exceptional. Creating a overerly complicated rule system is not an improvement on life, but a hinderance. What is much more interesting in the future for cellular automata are reversible automata. You can read more here.
Me thinks that someone may have a slightly anti-patent outlook on life. You are probably right, but generally I expect to see strong opinions down here in the comments section, not in the article itsself.
When I was new to slashdot I tried to submit a story about my work (see below), but soon realized that I would only be rejected. After all one person's work isn't a big deal in terms of the whole community. This article has really opened my eyes however. Back to the submissions board.
My proposal got rejected (I'm not too surprised). The only thing that makes me a bid upset is that it seems all the projects are going to bsd and linux. At least some people should have been allowed to work on mac and windows projects. If you aren't a linux or bsd developer than you would have been looking for java projects, which there wern't many of either.
I actually have had my cell phone crash once, at worst time possible: trying to pick up my girlfriend for our first date. Other than that however I haven't had any problems. Are crashing cell phones more prevalent than I had thought?
Dont know if my news tip will get picked up. These things should not be sneaked in.
I hope you mean that humerously. CNN, being part of a media conglomerate has a vested intest in seeing the broadcast flag go through. I don't think that they are going to bring it to the publics attention against their own best interests.
I think i'd rather keep my several thousand dollar peice of hardware fully functional and portable, thank you. PLus this requires more than one laptop? I'd rahter either sell my old laptop or hook it up into some kind of cluster.
The article seems to be down, but is it smaller than this?

have you considered exploiting integer over-flow?
I wouldn't trust it. My room/cell mate had one and it didn't seem to do him any good, although his was for treating epilepsy.

Ah, I think my year long dedication to an open source project demonstrates that I can do the basics.

dupe dupe, I call dupe. Jeez, editors these days
I had always assumed it was in some kind of formula based on kick-backs and relation of the producers to the members of the board.
I bet the KDE people are big KMFDM fans. They seem to use the same naming schema after all.
You know if you want to check out how tech jobs are doing why not go here?
Wait no more

So will this robot be working with or in competition with robo-cop?
Scriptable Java is nothing new. Even my language Centum can do it. All it requires is a little JNI code, and presto, you can make Java calls.
maybe they assume that you don't mind sharing a room with your buddy. As long as he sleeps on the floor that is.
Did you misplace your sense of humor today? Did a jedi hit you as a kid?

I'm woking on it. Or actually I'm having someone else work on it since I don't use linux.
