More or less the lenses make the photo. A cheap sensor won't record all the detail transmitted by the lens but with a cheap lens the image projected on the sensor will have already been distorted from "reality" so far that it doesn't matter what you record it with. Slap a plastic holga clone on a DSLR and it turns into 1998 webcam.
The average news reader couldn't tell an iPhone photo from one taken with a full frame camera and 1000$ glass. Photography has nothing to do with what passes for journalism now a days, its all about getting a quick vertical video of what's going on and following up with "tell us what you think on twitter, facebook, [any/all social media]." Most "news" other than weather and traffic has been turned into a string of opinion pieces anyway, then they dont have to use facts in their stories that way, it's a real time saver.
As an electrician I would highly suggest becoming a plumber. No matter what the real problem with any building or equipment the first guy called is an electrician and no amount of argument will ever convince the client that water in the breaker panel is NOT the electrician's fault or that the only way to stop the breaker from tripping is to unplug one of the 12 computers on one circuit.
Have you used Windows 8 with a touch device? The metro interface is really only a pain in the ass if you are using a mouse/trackpad/pen. Their best bet for usability would to give an option of the standard metro or a "boot to desktop with start button" mode. Losing the metro screen would make it a lot more clumsy for tablet/touch users.
I think it sounds like a pretty awesome business plan if you are not underhanded about it. Release your software for free with a note in he TOS that you will be mining bitcoins for the developer whenever you are using the software. Users get "free" software and developers get incentive to make software that people want to use. If you release rubbish not many people will continue to use it and you won't get paid.
Take advantage of it. Get some anti-wifi signs printed up and sell them with "a portion of the proceeds going to WiFi exposure research," be sure to hug your router once a day to see if you feel better or worse;)
Its a gain unless the farming, harvesting, transportation and fermenting process produces more pollution per litre than the equivalent petroleum mining and processing. I don't know the numbers on that either but it's not insignificant.
No it shouldn't. The last think you need is a bunch of tards dicking about with their water heaters, stoves or furnaces (electric or gas). There are a few areas of the consumer product spectrum that should remain in "trained professional" territory.
I do wonder however why people don't fix their own stuff more frequently? I've brought a few garbage picked cameras (film and digital) back from the dead with only a set of screw drivers and a pair of braincells to rub together. Anything you can't figure out on your own is usually just a google search away.
I too am a DSL user (up in the great white north) the lines are over 50 years old here so we have the bell guy up a ladder at least 3 times a year. They usually get to it within a day but they never really fix the problem.
...until some one starts spoofing multiple devices just to mess with their data? It would serious mess up their day to see 128 devices in the store but only see 5 people on the cameras.
There are many reasons for people to be fat but the ONLY mechanism is cramming your face with calories. Regardless of glands, mental health or family history you body cant just pull mass out of fat air, it needs to be fed. An intelligent diet and exercise are the cheapest and best solution to America's weight problem. Unless the person is not in charge of their own diet then there is no one to blame for their 300lb ass but themselves.
If it's going to be a "smart" device I would expect it to be about the same build quality as phones and MP3 players. In 5 years the batteries wont hold a charge, the door wont stay shut and you'll have to put a rubber band on it to keep the on button pushed in. Then you can justify getting a new one!
Agreed. Canada has exactly the same problem. I came out of high school, worked 6 years as an apprentice got my license as an electrician and have since been out of work. I don't qualify for welfare but there is gov. subsidized housing down the street with a parking lot full of 2012 pickups and BMWs. Both countries need a serious overhaul to their welfare systems.
..is "drill press operator" a job all its own? I haven't been to a single machine shop or factory where they have one person who's only job is to run the bloody drill press. If there was such a person he would be forever in the way of everyone else who had work to do.
I see you have never been to the educational parts of the internet that are interdependently sourced. There are still plenty of sites out there that provided a wealth of knowledge that are funded (usually only partly) by the ads they have. A less independent example is youtube, there are a lot of shit content creators that rake in cash for making crap content BUT there are also a bunch of awesome people out there that make interesting educational and useful videos that are partly or fully funded by their ad revenue. Just because you go to shitty websites that serve shitty adds doesn't mean they should all be done away with. It means you need to stop surfing the braindead sections of the internet.
Look up Bill Beaty, Mike's Electric stuff, Jeri Elssworth, Ben Krasnow, Woodgears.ca, Smarter every day. They are all do what they do because they like it and to be educational but they earned every 1/10th of a penny for each page or video view. Blocking ads on an individual basis is fine, most people don't do it. Blocking ads as an ISP is fucking the hand that feeds you.
Canada has the same problem but compounded. Outside of major cities (and inside some) you can not expect to go anywhere after it snows unless the plow has been by OR you have all wheel drive/4x4 and a high ground clearance. Unfortunately you don't find those features on many high MPG cars and the plows don't hit residential or side streets until some time after noon. You'll also be hard pressed to find a boss in Canada that lets you take snow days;)
There is no sympathy from the rest of the world. Here in Canada "cheap" gas is 4.50USD/Gallon, in Europe its way worse then that, no one wants to hear about it any more. Pick some other non-issue to cry about like how expensive starbucks coffee is or how horrible it is that the millionaire hockey players aren't playing.
Send them ahead to the next planet so all the phones will be clean by the time we arrive!
This is how it starts.

That would be a good reason to not run your consumer's computer to death. It pays to play nice.

Itchy hemp fibre bags and abrasive rope to tie up annoying hippies!

I think its legal in a few states now isn't it?

\would buy that app.
Have you ever seen a fat skeleton? Yeah, me neither.

Its easiest to break peoples fingers with pliers and hammers, should be ban those too? Its not the tool its the hands holding them.

The taxes on our income, liquor and tobacco that are all also higher then the corresponding US tax rates.
