Seeing how using text speak seems to be standard operating procedure for high ranking goverment officials . I would suspect "like 15-year-old children talking" would qualify you to hold a nice cushy post in goverment. Perhaps the goverment can look inward first before critiquing illegally seized evidence. Better yet why not just stop performing illegal search and seizures. Oh right, they are above the law, silly me.
Yup it's not stealing, well at least not from the person. Nobody stole any identities, but rather a good bit of money from banks and creditors. However somehow they have managed to convince everyone that it is not the banks problem.
For a comical take on this point
Identity theft should not be an individuals problem but rather whatever institution that mistakenly allowed the transaction should be held responsible.
How about not throwing children into any situation. In my opinion what is being discussed is not throwing children into dangerous situation but either we want to allow children to consciously choose themselves whether to enter a dangerous situation themselves. The real problem is a lot of people don't want children to have choice at all hence even the language referring to children has become derogatory. I think we need to get used to the fact people die and people screw up and children aren't any different. I feel like the greatest problem with the current generation is simply we weren't able to screw up rather badly and people learn from their mistakes and others mistakes hence why we have a generation of incoherent idiots./bitter about always being told what was best for me//really was what was best for them...
I think they probably are correct in this case because it concerns embroidery. Not being a person who does embroidery on a regular basis I can only guess that this software is most likely some type of digital blueprint for embroidery designs. Basically instead of a book this seems to be more like sheet music or even music files in general. Think charges for playing music in restaurant, elevators, etc. The copyright is on the embroidery design it's self and the program hence both the person who made the illegal copy and the one who uses the data on the copy are both responsible for copyright violations. The difference between this case and books are that in this case you are reproducing something tangible where as in a book you are simply reading it.
Sexual crimes against children are some of the most monsterous things mankind can do - and they do occur with a very high frequency, and they are worth detecting and stopped at every opportunity.
I'm thinking abusing the trust and power the public citizenry has place in your hands is one of the most monstrous things mankind can do and it does occur with a very high frequency
Actually I believe they do arrest pedophiles who go aboard for child sex but that could be because it is illegal in that country as well. However the impression I always had was that the federal government could arrest you if you are an American citizen and you broke an American law aboard.
As for interstate law infraction like the example of gambling in Vegas because you crossed state lines to commit the "crime" it would be federal jurisdiction and seeing how the US government has not made gambling illegal wholesale it remains legal to perform actions in one state that would be illegal in your resident state.
Obviously you have never done any research on areas that threaten national interests. People get visited every day and ask to 'study something else'. Refuse and you get to meet Mr. IRS man. I've seen it.
IRS man? The Internal Revenue Service...? Geez I know aduits suck and all but I don't see how that would strike fear into the hearts of a humble researcher...head of a fourtune 500 company maybe...
Just wondering...has 3G fixed the horrid latency on mobile networks? Almost any mobile network i have used has pretty bad latency which i would imagine would make VoIP a moot point anyways. Going to be a very annoying converstaion in VoIP with 200msec+ latency.
going agiasnt nature eh....okay then dont eat any vitamins while your at it. No dietary supplements at all cause last time i checked thoose are definatively man made even more agiasnt nature.
Some how i doubt spying on citzens would satisfy any citzen base? Hence why it is masked as child porn...though they with out a doubt want more power to abuse, I say we get some of that power back. If only they didn't castrate the 2nd admendment...
I think what a lot of people REALLY want out of IP laws is very simple. Something that protects the little guy and is useless to the large corps. Basically IP laws that prevent media cartels from existing while still providing a revenue stream for the artist. IP laws that protect the inventor in his basement while preventing ghost patent hording companies from benefiting. Simply we want to fix the patent system so it is not exploitable by people and corporation to make ludicrous amounts of money. Now the only thing in the way of this change is simple, the people currently making ludicrous amounts of money don't want that to stop and well....they have ludicrous amounts of money.
I believe this way of thinking has greatly lead to the decline of actual thinking in education today. I believe long division it's self is relatively pointless, it is simply an algorithm to perform a division operation. I think it is much more important to educate children on WHAT division is rather then simply being able to do it. To be able to understand the abstract concept of division is more important than actually being able to divide two large numbers together simply because we as humans are not particularly suited to task that involve repetition near perfect accuracy which gee....that is exactly what a computer is for. Rather people are meant to handle more abstract and higher level reasoning operation which is really what we need more of in the world, a person who actually understand division not a person who can simply perform it flawlessly for the latter is easily replaced.
First of all, what supports their estimates? Secondly, I've still yet to see causal studies whereby there are directly related losses because of illegal downloads. I have seen some convincing studies showing strong correlation between downloading and sales.
Of course they have because the keyword there is losses. Companies do not experience losses by piracy, meaning it doesn't actually cost them anything. Rather piracy deprives them of potential revenue, meaning all this discussing of losing money to piracy is all dependent on a theoretical situation where a person would buy it. Basically if you were to steal a stick of gum, that becomes a loss for the store/company/etc. Because essentially at the end of the year they have to deduct the cost they paid for the gum from their total earning. It would be a big fat red minus on they finances. Where as piracy means that companies aren't able to generate MORE revenue, meaning instead of taking actual losses, they just don't get to make more money. Basically they don't get to add nice black pluses to their finances. Now the losses all these IP companies talk about are NOT the red minuses but the black pluses they MIGHT have gotten. It basically being upset that not enough people decided to buy your product, and then whining to the government to make people buy it. Reminds me a bit of auto insurance here in the States.(Yes I know there are good reason for getting auto insurance)
um...why are we blaming google? They are not handing out this information because they want, they have been legally compelled to by the state/goverment. So the ones to blame and criticize is the US goverment and the judge that allowed the subpoena.
As for the transportation of energy off the grid...why not hydrogen? Isn't that what it is exactly suited for? Use to nuclear power to run hydolysis on the water and we have solved the whole hydrogen coming from fossil fuel problem? And we can finally put thoose damn fuel cells to work. Now just need a good way to transport hydrogen with losing lots of it into the atmosphere.
Look. I want to come over to your house. And I want to say "cock sandwich" in front of your wife and kids. Is it wrong for you to forbid me?
That analogy is not completely correct. Yahoo is not intruding on French homes and pushing Nazi merchandise. It more along the lines of you going into someone's home and demanding they act a certain way. After all it is France who is visiting yahoo's website. If France fines yahoo so offensive they should just go and firewall yahoo, after all I think they have every right to. Would people be pissed, hell yeah. But France has no right in demanding that yahoo conform to their laws.
Of course it's short, all recent bill have a tendency to follow this pattern.
Shorter=Less ass rape
Longer=Tons of ass rape
Now i wonder why that is, could it be that the longer bills are meant to be confusing, so when they pass a law like the DMCA which was meant to be used agaisnt pirates who operate for profit, instead they end up allowing the **AA to extort money from citzens. I doubt if the bill said
"This gives the RIAA the power to ass rape anyone they see fit"
It would be passed, but you never know, but the last time i checked the congressemen werent that well paid off.

Yes of course because the soviets and chinese were just cute little puppy dogs.

Actually it is quite simple...children have rights whenever it is convenient to and at all other times they don't have any rights.
Um....is isn't it obvious we don't want the internet to become like cable tv.

Companies only exsist because of the law. If there were no laws companies couldn't incorporate hence no companies.
Whoever's search engine can retrun a good result for "windows vista crack" first
or distrbuting any files with names simliar to copyrighted files. What rights?
