They bought Fingerworks' patents already. It's why I don't have a new Touchstream. I know it may just to be a filing to add haptic feedback, but they already own what they need to make a keyboard with no keys.

Here, you pick your seats when you buy tickets. There is also a section (the only section I go to) that's VIP. It's a minimal upcharge ($3). Noone under 21 allowed in the section. Then I can skip the concession stands, as they come around in this section with tablets and take our orders and bring it to us. Alcohol and a restaurant menu all available. Huge seats, armrests wide enough for people and their plates, walkways in front so there is no shuffling to walk past. The armrests flip up and the seat become couches for couples.

Why don't they make the hardware service agnostic like they do televisions? POTS does, why does cellular need to be different?

I have an HP d135 which has the print heads separate from the ink tank. The heads are replaceable, and it's a damn nice all in one, but it's expiry is obnoxious. My ink expired a few months back, so I bought new ink, and when it arrived, I installed it and it said the print heads had then expired. I haven't bought new heads, and the machine now has all new ink in it that I can't use without new heads. By the time I get around to it, the ink will probably have expired. I love the printer, but hate how they want to do business.

  12. Dvorak on Is DVORAK Gaining Traction Among Coders? · · Score: 1

I started using the dvorak layout a few years back. I bought a TouchStream in a Dvorak layout, and never looked back. All my laptops are rearranged, and at work, I've changed the keycaps an a nice HP keyboard (its' not all weird heights on this one). I can type faster on my dvorak layouts, as I use them more, but I can still type well on qwerty. Noone comes in my office to use my keyboard. The only drawbacks I have encountered is when you hurt your hand and have to type (more travel to type) or when you say get booted to KDL in MacOS X or BeOS, as they revert to a qwerty layout (BIOS kinda thing maybe). I have to say it's one of the more drastic things I ever did computing-wise, but I'm happy with it.

I currently have an 80 GB HD it, but may slap a larger HD in later. Since it's USB, I can plug it in anywhere and burn if needed or clean up what I don't want. It'll also recharge through the USB port.

I gotta say it isn't so much DRM I dislike. I've been hit with DRM issues in one of my latest projects. Got around it easy enough. Not all files have are easy to get around though- think tech demos from companies or somesuch. My problem with DRM is the authentication part. How do we know in 5 years if the server the machine needs to contact is around to "allow" me to use what I have purchased. That's my issue. Machines move like formats. In 5 years I'd still like to listen to my music and my movies without fear that the companies who placed the DRM on their files is still around, let alone running servers to let you use what you have.

Granted the FBI isn't known for it's investigative work, but point is the employers seem to like it. I think IT should definitely have this as a requisite.
