    Every time some corporate droid has told me this regarding a {buyout, merger, acquisition, sale, re-org} a major cockup has followed. The only thing worse is when they use the phrase, "transparent to the end user," and you know the apocalypse is coming next week.

    That's exactly what we did, so people could drink from the public drinking fountains (and also vote and go to college and such.) It worked.

    To be honest, 1.5M USD is a pretty damned small amount of money (his salary should be publicly available as he's a state employee in Texas), perhaps as little as 7 years salary (if a full prof.)

    His 1.5M USD over 5 years is $300,000 per year over and above his UT salary. Definitely moves him a step up from whore to call girl, but maybe not enough to rate all the way to courtesan.

    My bet on which line will be "Made in the USA" is the revamped Mac Pro due out next year. First, the numbers are far smaller than that for iPads or iPhones. requiring less capital investment. Second, they're not as challenging to assemble. Third, the added labor cost will be a smaller percentage of these more expensive units.

    I would think low base #8 2.75 inch shells for pigeons. That's what I use. That would not be very effective against a copter drone. However, it's easy to chamber a couple of #2 3 inch magnum goose loads if the need arises. You could scale up to 00 buckshot if needed. A spread of 32 cal. balls ought to do it.

    Band-tailed pigeons are quite tasty. They are native to North America and eat berries, seeds and whatever in the woods. Rock doves are native to Europe, live in cities and eat whatever little old ladies throw at them. I have never eaten one of them.

    I find the Rapidograph size 0 to be exactly right for the sort of tasks mentioned. I've used one for decades. Size 0 gets more use than all of the other pens in the set put together.

    I believe the sharp edges of Saturn's rings are attributable to the shepherd moons. This also appears to be true for the rings of Jupiter and Uranus. Not enough is known about the Nuptunian ring system to say for certain about it.

    I am very well paid. I like making my own coffee. I don't have a gardener, because I like gardening. I would rather have a root canal and a colonoscopy at the same time with no anesthetic than try to fix Unity. Accounting for my time in my work life and my personal life are two very different things.
