both media are annoying, self righteous and biased but at least the o'reilly factor is funny! i've been in tears laughing from some of the shit that bill says! air america is just plane annoying.
well, in fairness the health care system was doing really shitty way before this "problem", the health care system is doing worse now and it'll continue to to badly. this law, like the smoking ban, was a distraction. our government is doing a really bad job with the health care system and they know it.
Why do people constantly post "Productivity this, productivity that" comments on SLASH-FUCKING-DOT? Stop ranting on a geek forums site and do some fucking work!:p
No there isn't "hundreds of $$$ worth of software included with Suse". There's heaps of free software supplied with Suse. A lot of this free software is also ported to Windows and if it isn't, there are other good alternative free options.
I was having loads of problems downloading it. What worked for me was clicking the US2 mirror and copying the ftp URL in the address bar in Safari. Clicking stop in Safari. Opening up the Terminal and typing: ftp
For some reason, the Apple dev mirrors really suck.
No way dood! The graphics were way better on the N64 and the control pad was better too. N64 had a killer game, Goldeneye. The James Bond games on the playstation just plain suck. There were really cool games on the N64. There were just loads of games on the playstation. Tomb Raider sucks.
Mario was always way cooler than Sonic. Mario Bros 1 and 3 are the 2 best games of all time.
I have to put my ear right up against it to hear it going. Of course there's a very low crackling sound when there's a good bit of HD IO going.
One of my mate's got a Compaq laptop with a P4 processor and the thing sounds like a hair drier!
I would have thought that they, being so organised and all, would have used really strong encryption on their computers. Also, would they not see any conflict of interests in using US company computers and US software?
Take the time off to think about how great a colour iPod with bluetooth would be.
Joking aside, I hate the way useless features (an iPod with a colour display) are often preferred than improving existing products (like extending the battery life to 40 hours). Just a thought...
I've wondered about this. I'm a student right now but I've been thinking, when I eventually venture into the big bad world and get a job in Natural Language Processing, I'll use the stuff that I learned in college to do stuff at my job. No doubt I'll pick up stuff from working too. When I eventually move on to an other job in the same area, I would probably use my knowledge from college and my previous job.
Is it tricky for IT guys to avoid copyright infringements? It's probably a non-issue but with all these IP court cases I just started wondering, where does the line fall between applying your knowledge of a certain subject to do your job and ripping off the IP of the previous company that you worked with?
i've been wondering about this. in order to ship java with a distro, do you have to pay sun some money or do you simply have to flash the EULA on the screen and tell the user to "Accept" to install?
why don't distros, especially desktop ones, make java use a gtk or qt look 'n' feel as the default instead of the crappy java one?
i think it's a reason why people don't use it as much. they see how crappy it looks and disregard it. windows and mac os x users don't notice that much of a difference when using the apps because the java apps have the same look 'n' feel as their other apps.
java isn't slow. it may be a bit of a memory hog and it may take a few seconds to start a java app but so do alot of apps built with c++ like openoffice.org and mozilla
in fairness, moore never really said that he was "fair and balanced". i don't think anyone is under the illusion that moore is even trying to be unbiased.
...air america?!?

it's just you

What, you hate java apps because you don't know how to run them?
Stop being such a fucktard, it's like saying that computers don't work because you can't find the power button
Does that mean that us Panther folks won't be able to install XCode2 without upgrading to Tiger?

I've read that a few times on other geek threads. Where's the quote from?

Do they intentionally make the encryption weak? Is all encryption as breakable as Apple's?
...is that September 2005 or September 2006?
For a minute there I thought they were talking about this magazine.
...and MS makes a deal with Fiat. Makes sense I suppose...
What about Java? It's pretty easy to GUI program. The tutorial on java.sun.com is pretty easy too

don't they have international cinemas where they don't overdub? there's one in potsdamer platz in berlin...
mod parent up!!! fucking hilarious!!! :)
in ireland it's the same with two parties, fine gael and fine fáil, except that they are both right wing!
in britain, it's labour or the conservatives where labour are only slightly less right wing than the conservatives.
it's all bollocks anyway. in order for parties to be big and powerful, they have to have strong ties with big companies.
