The US has a huge amount of dark fibre, so the long-haul links are not constrained by early development. And many countries built out consumer broadband before the USA did, but now have better service.

All that dark fiber was put in about 98-01 and is privately owned. Most of it also runs along rail road tracks. Just because the long haul links are out there, that doesn't mean the hard part is done. The long haul links are actually the easy part. The hard part is getting it laid out to all the houses and everything else. Those are the lines that when totaled, will equal at least a few hundred times the length of the long haul link lengths.

Also, remember that those countries heavily subsidised the broadband roll out. That's not happening with Fibre in the US. Give it time, and the US will have the same service.

Buy a few crates of cake containers from a CD or DVD distributor. Then hire an intern. Label each CD with a sequential number and label the cake containers with their sequence number. A simple Excel sheet or simple database can handle mapping a CD with who it came from and the date to a cake container/CD number. The intern then fetches said CD.

I'm gonna modify this slightly for more ease of use. I still like the basic idea, though.

Use the above mentioned CD labeling system.
    Place CD's in 208/300 CD/DVD binder.
Get shelving that will fit the Binders (Ikea IVAR works great for adjustments)

Shouldn't be too hard after that. The main thing though, is the numbering system Without that, the whole thing fails miserably no matter what.

    1) Something so I can wear it at the Gym
    2) A remote so I can control it while it is in my backpack
    3) FM adapter so I can play it through my car sterio

I saw some stuff on tehre website that might meet #1 and I can find stuff to do #3, but I haven't seen any other MP3 player with #2 yet other than an IPOD.

All the previous characters have been very ... cartoony (for lack of a better word) in both appearance and attacks (this even includes Samus). Sonic and most other sega and Megaman characters would count as well. I have no idea how they would incorporate RE characters or Mortal Combat or even Street Fighter/X-Men/SNK vs. Anything characters weapons and attacks (mainly due to the type of attacks) into this as it would change a good chunk of the game play.

Megaman characters would be a great addition to the game as well, although I'm not sure how much they count as Sega, as I think the last MegaMan game was realeased for the PS1/2

There is both a pro and a con to launching from the higher latitude.

Con: It takes more energy (fuel) to get to orbit as you have less of a "push" from the earth's rotation to help you get to orbital velocity.

Pro: If your destination is in a relatively highly inclined orbit (as the International Space Station is), you use less energy (fuel) changing your orbital inclination compared to starting from the equator.

As you quoted, it is intended to supply the ISS. A higher inclination than Canaveral would be beneficial. However, for anything beyond (such as the moon), a more equatorial launching pad would be better.

NTSC DVDs are not always encoded at 29.97 FPS. They are sometimes encoded at 24fps or 23.976 fps. This kind of DVD is typically a digital conversion from film since movies have traditionaly been filmed at 24FPS. It's a lot harder to encode (and maintain quality) on a digitized version of a 24fps movie converted to 29.97 than it is to just do an inverse tecline (24->29.97) after decoding inside the DVD player. Best way to maintain quality and reduce bitrate is to have hte DVD encoded at the same FPS as the source material.

Just ignore the public, tell them that they're all wacky, and continue to claim you're involved in the process.

    Why even hold primaries?

I'll be both he and Bush make a great show of still turning up for work after losing in the general elections, claiming that what the "radical public" has done by voting them out of office is wrong and therefore they don't have to "stand for" it. No point in holding elections at all, they just let "radical elements" vote incumbents out.

Something tells me you don't know how the US election system works. First, Bush can not even run for re-election again as he is already serving his second term. In the US, presidents for about the past 60 years have been limited to 2 terms by the US Constitution.

Now, on to primaries and Lieberman. Primaries are for politcal parties to decide who they are going to push for as the party candidate. Primaries have nothing to do with who can run in the general elections. The only people who can vote in the Democrat Connecticut Primary are registered Democrat voters living in Connecticut. People who are not registered voters of a specific political party, a group that makes up the vast majority of voters in any state, can not vote in Primaries in most states, including Connecticut. So, the Democrat party in Connecticut has decided they do not want Lieberman to run as the Democrat's official candidate. This means nothing to what the rest of the voters of the state may feel.

Lieberman will find out if the people of Connecticut want him to continue to be their Senator in November, not some primary three months beforehand.
