Very unlikely. Approval for admission would have to be unanimous, and several other countries have their own issues with separatists. They would not want to set a precedent of easy admission.

  3. That is a reason to eat lots of apples. They don't make you fat.

Lack of nutrients is not the same as a lack of calories. Apple juice is basically sugar water with tannins. You might as well save money and just buy soda instead.

I certainly don't care enough to try washing my Apples in a commercial bleach solution.

This research is not aimed at consumers. It is aimed at fruit processors. They currently wash with a bleach solution, partly to remove chemicals, but mostly to kill bacteria such as salmonella, before shipping the fruit to the grocery store.

  6. Exactly what nutrients are you losing by peeling the apple?

You lose very little. It is a myth that the nutrients are concentrated in the peel. So peel guilt free. Or even better, just don't eat apples. Nutritionally, they are one of the worst fruits. Peaches, pears, cherries, watermelon, oranges, bananas, and even tomatoes or bell peppers, have far more good stuff in them.

TFA doesn't say. In fact, it only mentions Saudi Arabia in the first half of the first sentence, and then abruptly veers into a shameless promotion of "Uptake" with plenty of vacuous statements by its CEO, and never mentions Saudi Arabia again.

Here is a link with some actual information. Here is another.

Only the tourists notice those. Natives don't even see them anymore. Every business with a fax machine or printer or refrigerator has to have cancer warning signs, so you see one on every door and it means nothing ... just like the alarms at Three Mile Island that went off several times a day for innocuous reasons, conditioning the employees to tune them out.

  9. Bernie Sanders broke every previous US record for voter support.

How many people show up at rallies doesn't matter. He needed people to show up at voting booths, and they didn't come.

I am straight and I think gays are "good". Gay tend to be DINKs (double income no kids), so they have high household incomes and can afford nice houses. They pay property taxes to support the schools, but don't have kids, leading to higher per student educational spending. They contribute to a thriving urban culture and nightlife.

I live in the SF Bay Area, and gays are a big part of the reason this is a nice place to live, with great schools, creative jobs, safe neighborhoods, and interesting culture. Thank you for being gay.

  11. Bill doesn't like Bernie

I do like Bernie. I just don't agree with him.

Bernie would have stopped Bill from offshoring American jobs.

How, pray tell, would Bernie have done that? If I hire someone in Shanghai to write software, or design circuits, how could President Bernie have stopped me from doing that? By blocking the encrypted emails bringing the "goods" into America?

America needs to create jobs by learning to compete, not by throwing up barriers. This is one issue where Bernie and Donald agree, and they are both wrong. No country has created prosperity by hiding behind a protectionist wall.

Bernie's supporters were not sheep. They were simply voting in their own interest. He was promising free stuff to young educated white people, so of course they are going to support him. The problem is that his support didn't extend beyond that group. He never got much support from minorities, working-class whites, or voters old enough to realize that someone has to pay for the free stuff, and it was going to be them.

Today, an important prospective client is visiting. You can swap out the sign on the door from "WeWork" to "XYZ Corp", and the (shared) receptionist will greet them with a chirpy "Welcome to XYZ Corp". You can then give them a quick tour of "your" office suite, and then take them to "your" conference room for the meeting. This can make you look much bigger and more important than you actually are.

In other words, they can help you lie to your customers.
