I have been switching all of my lights to CFL's as they go out.
I have always run 60 watt bulbs and am now running 13 watt CFL's
Lets do the math
13 watts x 26 bulbs = 338 watts per hour 338 watts x 7 hours per day = 2,336 watts per day if I leave them all on for 7 hours
60 watts x 26 bulbs = 1560 watts per hour 1560 watts x 7 hours per day = 10,920 watts per day if they are left on
lets see the money
2.336 kilowatts x 30 days = 70.8 kwts 10.920 kilowatts x 30 days = 327.6 kwts
70.8 * $0.142 = $10.05 327.6 * $0.142 = $46.52
mmm looks like I am saving money
All I know is that at 9.95 for 3 or $3.32 each it only takes 1 month and you paid for 6 of them
My bower bill (the non fuel surcharge part) dropped by ~ 80% after replacing all of the bulbs
Now if I can just kick the power company in the bulbs to get them to lower the fuel surcharge to be at least equal to the regular bill and not 3 times the bill...
Give me one data/charging cable with a USB connection to my laptop or wall wart and let me charge my devices from the laptop or the wall wart. (thinking a powered usb hub).
If all useres worldwide where using FF then.NET would be usless Server 2003 would be a brick SQL Server would be a waste of money
PHP, Oracle, posgress and others would rule
If all users world wide used IE then there would be no PHP and Microsoft would control all development platforms and servers and such (after all isnt that what they want)
So what your telling me, is that you know who a person wanted to vote for by the location of the hole in the paper?
B.S., no one knows who anybody votes for
All I know is when I vote I am smart enough to check my ballot before I remove it from the machine, and if I have punched the wrong spot I ask for a void and a new ballot, then start over.
for people in Florida, hell they cant poke a hole in a piece of paper with a tool that is designed to poke that hole. what makes you think they can put their finger on the right spot on a touch screen.
-- Stupid people should not breed Ignorant people should not vote
Take CNN, they have an advitiser (big car maker) that is in bed with big oil, big oil does not want you to know that they are making $2 million a week in proffit. So when CNN is about to air the story of how much big oil is making, big oil calls big car maker and big car maker calls cnn and says "You air that and I will pull my $35 million ad campaign." now we the public never here that story.
Another thing that happens,
Say you are in the White House press core You have dirt that will rock the Nation, now you go to your boss with the story, he says run with it but you be be reassigned to the South Pole next week. You cant go anywhere else with your story do to no compete clause in your contract. Thus it is never told.
Sensorship, ya we have it bad.
We can say things like Damn and God but not God Damn We are not allowed to say "Mohammad is the Devil" (i don't believe that he is). We can say Ass, as he got shot in the ass. We can say hole but not ass hole
Freedom of speach
Yes we believe in it, Yes we have it, as long as it does not offend you.
-- My right to offend you is more important than your right to not be offended.
a future way, or a step twards the government(s) saying, you own a pc, the average bandwidth use world wide is 1.5Gig per month, you us $0.01 per meg. Give us the $15.00 or we will revoke your license to think.
-- Big brother is a lie, he lies to you and smiles while doing it
Prime example of this was a Boy Scout troop we took on a pack trip into the Rio Grande Valley last fall.
There was one scout leader who we thought was actually having a nervous breakdown, as it turned out the battery in his blackberry died and he had no way to charge it or check his email. It was the DT's just as a druggie goes through. Needless to say we no longer allow any cell phones or electronics, other than two way radios and one cell for emergencies, on any of the trips.
Another less idintified problem is the "I need to work" syndrom of the internet When we get home we go to work.
Just like now, I am at home, Im off work, but am waiting for a client to reboot a server so I can check it out again.
I mail myself a first class letter from my house and I get it back 9 days later. I go into town and mail myself a letter at the post office I get it 4 to 5 days later I send myself a priority mail letter I get it in 3 to 4 days
I get the pink slip for my power bill the day before I get the power bill. I am lucky if the carrier(s) even picks up out going mail.
The last "Blue Box" in my town was filled with cow manure and is now gone.
The USPS just doesn't relize that you can't bleed us dry 4 cents at a time and not improve service.
As one carrier told me back when they came out with the priority mail deal.
priority mail is now the new first class First class is now treated as second class Second Class is now third class third class is now just delivered when they have room on the trucks

Just floating around in the BSOD
Give me one data/charging cable with a USB connection to my laptop or wall wart and let me charge my devices from the laptop or the wall wart. (thinking a powered usb hub).
Now how to deal with the different voltages.
US = 115 volts 60Htz
EU = 240 volts 50Htz
I use Firefox
Yes criminal checks are ok.
I have nothing to hide.
Credit check, Hell NO
What by credit looks like is non of their business.
I actually lost a 155k year project because I would not allow the staffing firm run a credit check.
We live in a disposable world.
Prime example, how would you react if you broke your 49.95 or 249.95 phone?
I dropped my $350 phone two stories 3 days ago and was upset but then again now I have the new version of that same phone. Yeaa
I like XP, 2000 even better, damn small Linux even more.

If I want your opinion I will beat it out of you.
It has everything to do with server enviroment.
.NET would be usless
If all useres worldwide where using FF then
Server 2003 would be a brick
SQL Server would be a waste of money
PHP, Oracle, posgress and others would rule

I dont want 7 on my machine.
Hell I dont want 6 on my machine.
Next hedline
Microsoft requires IE7 to do winbloz update

mod me as flaim bait if you wish, you now know how i feel

thats the way to do it.
vote by name NOT party

we dont need any yellow dog democrats, and we dont need any dead gop's elected

so we can protect ourselves from RIAA
was a waste of 1.8 minutes
But I could not do projects for $7 to $15 per hour when my normal rate is above $50.
Why would I want to come home and compete with people bidding 1/7 th of what I am bidding.
So I just use other methods to find my projects, and I dont have to give up a chunk of the earnings

Power to the people, Please... I need lots of power for my systems
all comes down to money

You all owe me $10.00 each
I hold the patent on the concept of passing gas in a public vertical conveyance.

Send me my money...

That's what this patent crap smells like
then we may actually be rid of the damn cd's they keep sending, I think I have over 400 now.

Big brother is a lie, he lies to you and smiles while doing it
I see this in people all the time.
Can't go a full day without checking their email.
Prime example of this was a Boy Scout troop we took
on a pack trip into the Rio Grande Valley last fall.

so yes the internet is addictive
I printed under various OS's
I looked at its souce security, not set dissallow printing
or is this their revenge
May be flaim bait but I dont care....
"Are a few extra immigrants really somethign to get worked up over?"
DAMN STRAIGHT IT IS !!!
I was at the ER the other day and they would not look at my broken foot
until I gave them, and they validated my insurance.
At the same time an illegal imigrant came in with a broken arm.
He was treated and released befor I was even looked at.
Now I have to pay his medical bill.
screw that
There is also somthing to be said about the 9th grader.
14 years old and can't RTFM on the front of the box.
Also showes the lack of common sence in kids today
I live in a smaller town, population 22k
I mail myself a first class letter from my house and I get it back 9 days later.
I go into town and mail myself a letter at the post office I get it 4 to 5 days later
I send myself a priority mail letter I get it in 3 to 4 days
