I can get a Wally-world PC w/Linux pre-installed for under $300, and monitors for less than $100. Add dialup service for 8/month, and that offer is not all that great.
Is that the two theories are not really opposing theories. Taking a less strict interpretation of the 'God created... in 7 days', the 'days' can mean almost any passage of time. God could have 'created' present-day man by developing them from a different 'man' that to God seemed like no time but was eons to the species. Same with other species evolution. God can have created one thing and allowed it to morph into something else.
After all, if God worked in actual days, wouldn't He be awful bored by now?
The new iPod has a slide show feature that allows pictures synch'd w/saved music. I think the next upgrade these slide shows should be exportable and transferrable - Have a set of pictures ready and drop them on the 'Pod or back to the Mac (or MythTV!) for video broadcasting to home montitors (TVs).
One of the big objections in Japan to the Xbox is the size - especially the Duke controllers (until the S controller came out). They want something tiny or thin. The cultural distain for our products can be overcome if we make something that looks Japanese in form.
Why is it only areas that can be monopolized get wise energy choices like methanol? The reduced-pollution benefits of alcohol have been known for over 2 decades, yet no politician wants to force the issue on ethanol-burning transportation. Instead it's oil-powered hydrogen fuel cells.
Walmart does not sell 'warning label' CDs, and alot of my collection have that scarlet letter on them.
This will hopefully get the record labels to finally reduce the prices, like they promised over a year ago. Then I can go to Circuit City and pick up some good, dirty music.
Having smart appliances and energy controls securely networked would be a boon to Linux. The real-time kernel would allow speedy monitoring of these type of devices.
Since all digital music formats on these devices have some compression, audio quality will suffer. Maybe not discernable to most ears, but it is still there.
The large HD device is commendable for portability, but I would also like to see cars retain at least a CD-player. It is also time to get the better-than-CD audio formats into mass-production and use. A DVD-Audio/MP3/Sat/Radio auto system would be ideal.
You are not wrong that the barriers are high. If there were any subsidies needed, I would (controversially) pay for them by raising the taxes on pure gasoline. I know people are wierded out on the GMing of plants, but if these GM crops were fuel only, public consumption would not be an issue.
That is incorrect. GM vehicles have been produced with the correct fuel system lines and gaskets, and E85 (85% alcohol) works fine in them. Few other builders followed suit, but too bad. Force them! And there is a difference between current production and possible production. Build enough 'still' refineries and capacity increases. We pay farmers to not grow crops due to overproduction. Now it's time for the market to pay them.
You are correct it will not be promoted. That is being saved for the fuel cell farce that will use fossil fuels to make the hydrogen.
GM plants can be VERY beneficial if modified correctly. This crop can be used as a fuel source, replacing oil-based gasoline. Get the yield high enough my GM'ing, and it becomes a great replacement - less pollution, more energy independence on any country capable of producing crops, and an industry that may finally get agriculture off the government dime.

Nothing to see here. Please move along.

[droll] Obligatory: "I'd rather have the Buzz update" [/droll] Good to see the updates.

There's a lot of things you'll have to fear
Given the Congress will most likely be GOP, Kerry will probably be ineffectual on any DMCA changes. And they would be low priority anyway.
Blue Airbag of Death
To make guys buy: Gorgeous women implying the purchase of a product makes said guy more attractive.
To make women buy: "Sale"
Why didn't reviewer say 'Brilliant, but slightly flawed'.
Given that Orrin wants all P2P technology banned, would this be terminated as well if he succeeds?
Or does this give P2P the legitimacy it needs to exists.
I vote the latter but I am biased for P2P tech anyway.
Did I leave a sour taste in your mouth?
Something's a little rotten w/that Cherry? That's the pits!!!
You'd think the siseneG would have been a tip off!
I think the IRL has some additive that shows a flame. Do not know if THAT is a pollutant, tough.

Since this is being spearheaded by Ashcroft, just put a naked Lady Justice in front of him. He'll be so outraged he'll forget about this crusade.
