I did that, and it sucked.....

The lack of focus follows mouse bugged me and there's no virtual desktops.
The ACL system completely screws me over when switching between the account I use for work stuff and the account I use for home stuff but using the same files....and fixing it requires clicking all over the place with a mouse (or braving cacl, the existance of which explains why Windows users think that a command line interface is difficult to use).

If you push the boundries then you can start to see them differentiate themselves a lot more clearly. It's really quite amazing how far you can push Vorbis and still have it sound acceptable, and even when it degrades, it does so in a much more pleasant way than MP3 - no horrible metallic ringing

The 5th one could be this supposed 64bit Pentium - which would be using either x86-64 (unlikely), or IA64. Or maybe they just mean Duron64 (or whatever the eventual budget Athlon64 gets called)

so both can be true, and no secret special MS only CPU.

Personally I find the prospect of a secret 64bit Pentium rather unlikely, but I guess we'll have to see. I'm not going to avoid Athlon64 because of a rumour, if it's cheaper than a pentium and performs at least as well as one, I'll buy it, 64bit capability isn't going to gain me anything.

    It's the pre-scripted story.

To extend your example more - how about if after you've been given your character, they then give you a script, and say "now read this".

To me, that wouldn't be roleplaying, that would be acting. Technically, I guess it's still playing a role, but it's someone elses role, and your ability to make it your role is limited to the way you deliver your lines.
Transfer that to a video game, where you don't have even the ability to express your pre-determined actions in a different way, and it's even less like roleplaying.

To me, the FF series are like point and click adventure games, but with combat.
That doesn't mean they're not fun, but I do think that calling them RPGs does the Roleplaying genre a disservice since these days too many people associate games like FF with roleplaying, rather than games like Morrowind.

After using the upgraded drivers from the DVD remote, both those issues are fixed, and we never use the remote, cause the controller is actually a much easier to use for basic functions (since you never lose it, and you don't have to hunt for the buttons in the dark).
