Having used SINCGARS before (and for few years) they change frequency every few seconds. Add encryption to it and it would be nearly impossible to breach.
When I was in the military our base frequency changed everyday and our ciphers changed on a regular basis weekly and sometimes daily.
If they were exercising proper procedures the only way I think it could have happened is if they stole an ANPASS(If I remember the name correctly). It includes all the frequencies and ciphers that you would need. Three wrong passwords and it turned into a big paperweight. If that was stolen then they were not keeping track of sensitive items well enough.
The intial switch from the manufacturing standpoint is MUCH cheaper to go HD-DVD than blue ray.
Again from Wikipedia: "DVD disc replication companies can continue using their current production equipment with only minor alterations when changing over to the format of HD DVD replication"
Blu-ray may be better overall but I think HD-DVD will win in the end.
Sony has a great track record Beta, MiniDisk and the latest UMD...... All those won their respective format wars, ight?
You completly missed the point of consoles. I am not going to get in a debate how a game looks on PC versus XBOX 360 (I have seen side by sides and the XBOX 360 is better).
A top of the line PC to play a game like NFS Most Wanted costs how much? $1500+ with a nice monitor? How about a decent laptop? $750??
Now I can pick up an Xbox 360 for $400 and plug it into any TV and a Nintendo DS for $150. I can rent games at Hollywood/Blockbuster, I can trade them at Game Crazy/Game Stop. I can hook it up to my 27" TV, or HDTV. Can you do that with PC games?
Also console games are optimized for the console. No tweaking, no waiting for the system to bootup, etc.
I used to be a PC only gamer until I got a XBOX and realized how nice it was.
You are correct I did not distinguish between the three. I really blurred the line and I should have used a better example. My point was more to the fact of "Intellectual property" in general.
I agree that copyright laws need to change I don't think they should go away.
People spend time and capitol to invent something, a book or a new type of fuel. It might cost millions to develop a new medicine and if there where no copyright laws someone could copy that product and sell it cheaper (because they do not need to recover the startup costs). Now if every time you spend your money and time to create something just to have someone copy it really kills the incentive to create it in the first place.
The Articles of Confideration did not provide any power to the Federal Government. The Federal governemnt was second to the States government. The Federal Government was not allowed to tax. They had to ask the States for money to provide for a military and to pay of the war debts from the Revolutionary War.

Gmail for a business account is un-professional. If I receive an email from a gmail account expecting an email from a business I would ignore it.
I use gmail for my business but I forward it through my web host email server. You can go under settings and then accounts and add another account. It allows you to send and email as another account through Gmail. Most web hosting charge under $3 a month to host a email server, and many include it with web hosting free.
Media Center is XP home but it also included many features in XP Pro. It has Remote Desktop and encryption anywhere as well as few other enhancements
When as a HOME user have you used any of the added XP Pro features. Except mabye if you have a domain at home. And I can say most people don't have a home domain. I have better things to do with my time than work on a domain at home. I have 3 PCs at home networked together. 1 XP Home, 1 XP Pro and a media center. I have NEVER used any of the extra features on the XP Pro machine. It is nice to be able to remote desktop into a computer, but have yet to do it in a Home enviroment.
I enjoy may Media Center PC. I keep it up stairs in my office and I can watch TV with full DVR functionality. It is funny after you have a DVR you can't go back.
I agree. There are plenty of loop holes in this FAIRTAX. I could be a used mansion (used items are not taxed) for 100 million and pay NO TAXES! Then I can sell it in five years for $130 million and again NO TAXES would be collected. What would prevent me from going to Canada to purchase my goods? I see people from Washington here in Oregon all the time at the malls, buying products. Is that TV better here in Oregon? or is it just cheaper due to no sales tax?
It seems this tax system is designed for business owners.
Most people type CNN.com in the address bar or have it already bookmarked bypassing any search engine. The same can be said about BBC.com (which redirects you) but most Ameicans don't visit it on a daily basis and would just do a quick search instead.
I purchased a new Dell XPS 400 last week. First thing I noticed my 80 gig drive only showed 55 gigs. I tried to go into "Disk Management" and I did not have rights to do this. Is this my computer or Dell's? I then decided to re-install the software. I paid extra ($10) for a MCE install CD. It now runs like a champ. No stability issues and it is smooth. I was able to get a 20 inch widescreen, dual-core and a gig of ram for about the same price as they tested. I have owned it for a little over 2 weeks and NO issues. I am not a hardcore gamer (at least on PC) but it is a great machine. It is quiet and looks good under my desk. I captured some videos and re-encoded them and use it for photo editing/web design. No regrets on the purchase.
I use the Comcast on demand. At $3.99 (versus $3.79 at the video store) it is a good deal. Hey I don't even have to get off my couch and no late fees. Most of America does not have a HD tv so they would never know what they are missing.
You also have to remember VOD is a new technology and it is only going to get better. Imagine if Comcast gave you 4 free VOD (the new release movies) a month. The average consumer would stop going to the video store.
VOD with a DVR, I always would have something to watch and from the conveince of my own home.
Cell phone companies made the same complaints. The found a solution and implemented it.
I don't understand the argument about calling 911 from you laptop if it is from your primary location that should be on record. If it is some hot spot at a coffee shop I am sure the guy (or gal) next to you has a cell phone.
There needs to be improvements on tracking IP locations. If the IP is located in Seattle it gets routed to the Seattle 911 center. If you are overseas it gets routed to the local emergency contact.
If you are paranoid and spoofing your IP I am sure you won't call 911 anyways, because then the 'government' can find you and conduct those 'experiments'.

Doesn't Slashdot use MySQL still??i es/slashdot.html/ and http://slashdot.org/faq/tech.shtml#te050/ look for (MYSQL).

If it is good enough for SlashDot then it is good enough for me.
You can always find a PS3 on Ebay for well over $1000 after launch day.
If I could play HD-DVD DISC on a normal DVD player I would purchase the disc, even though I don't have HD yet.
Good point. That is why IMHO that HD-DVD will prevail. I will have HD someday and if I can play HD-DVD on a normal DVD player I would purchase it.

Were did you get these figures. Are you counting the PS3 as a blu-ray player?
HD-DVDs are can be backwards compatable with standard DVDs so currently there are I don't know 1 billion players that can play HD-DVDs.
http://http//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HD-DVD/ stats: HD DVD can offer both the current DVD and HD DVD formats on one disc. Can blu-ra do that?

Shay's Rebellion proved that we needed a stronger Government.

Oregon does have tax shortages, but is is caused by excess spending by the state government.

A modded Xbox voids the warranty anyways.
You also forgot the medical bills. You can'r run and jump around after criminals all day and not at least throw your back out sometimes.
They should have had some type of obscene checker before you post.
If I pay someone to take a picture of my family, is it not a contract and I am the rightful owner of the picture?
I would be more understanding if the photographers took the pictures for free.
Because the boyfriend has a net worth of $50.

I never meet one person that wanted to get drafted and go to Vietnam.
Many people got out of Vietnam service (Clinton who never served in any capacity of the military)
