Thomas Crapper's improvements to the flush toilet had a lot to do with it's popularity. In his honor, people to this day call the act of using a toilet going to "take a crap".
Will that be changed to "take a Gates"?
I think you forget just how evil MS was for a while. Apple may be suing firms it sees as copying its designs for lost revenue, but MS once drove a small company out of business because it's fonder was married to someone who did a bit of consulting for Netscape.
If you go through life navigating by looking in your review mirror, you are going to run into a lot of things.
I'm a user of MS, Apple and Android based products. I'm getting tired of Apple's sue happy policy and I will take that into serious consideration during any future purchases.
Apple is making MS look less douchebaggish by comparison.
Nothing is more douchebaggish than "I won't buy XYZ any more because of blah blah emotional decision" posts on the Internet.
Apples numerous lawsuits aren't " 'blah blah emotional decision' posts", they are real.

There is nothing wrong with using the cloud as long as you don't care about privacy and have everything on the cloud backed up where you can easily retrieve it if the cloud blows away.
A common defense of flash-trading is that it provides market liquidity in that it provides counterparties to the desired transactions of the rest of the market.
If fleas could talk they would tell us how they benefit dogs.
But I've yet to see someone discuss how the added-value of millisecond liquidity is substantially superior to having exchanges post transactions in 1-sec. intervals to discourage millisecond arbitrage during which no new events have occured and no new market analysis has taken place, only speculation and playing the system against proper investors? Can someone illuminate me on this point?
I would go for a longer period that 1 second, although 1 second would be an improvement.
I prefer controlling the coding but use an HTML editor (not WYSIWIG) to reduce they amount of keyboarding. I still have complete control of the code and it is easy to read when done. A decent HTML editor will also have the ability to use a split screen to see the results of your work as you go. Coffee Cup HTML Editor works for me, there are other good ones.
Except what's being described in the article IS fragmentation. But keep telling yourself it's normal to get updates randomly, if at all.
Yes there is fragmentation, but it's not an Android problem, it's a douchebag carrier and phone manufacturer business plan.
The reason for the fragmentation is that the phone manufacturers and carriers don't want old phones updated. That would cut into sales of newer shinier phones.
Google is doing the right thing for the consumer by supporting older hardware that has the horsepower to run new versions of Android and the competition from Google will cause some of the phone manufacturers and carriers to offer better upgrade support.
No, that is why you keep the original packaging. When it quits working because of some tragedy like the glued in battery taking a dump, you are supposed to put it back in it's original packaging and add it to your iShrine.
If Orifice 2013 got rid of the ribbon I would consider getting it to replace my little used Orifice 2010. Until then i will continue to use Libre Office.
The electric car people make Apple Fanboys look like rational people.
in favor of Apple.
Now I think her wild mood swings must mean she's medicating?
No, she has just gotten to know Apple better than she did before.

There used to be a Jack Meoff in our local phone book.
Their website is down, look like they need to hire someone who has completed a 2 day course to fix it
should have typed Sounds more like beta males behaving badly.
Coming from a woman's perspective: agreed, to an extent.
It's not that most of these guys are necessarily bad people, but hackers (in the DEFCON sense) do tend to follow alpha male mentality......
Sounds more like aeta males behaving badly.
I said it for years... Apple only looked better because they were small. I was modded down and called ignorant and a Linux neckbeard.
I guess I'm going to have to pay more attention to Linux neckbeards.

You need to start someplace.

Yes, but the topic at hand was the ribbon, not changes that bring benefits.

Relax, we are just having some fun goofing on the iHive mind. Thank you for helping that along.
Yeah this story confuses me.
There's not even a ??? step. Is cutting tape really that difficult?
Evidently it is for an iSheep.
The parent is some of the best humor I have seen on /. Why is it rated insightful?
Ah, the joy of reselling a product that's never been used.
Welcome to the world of the iPeople.
Also saving the box means you don't have to pay UPS or the post office ~$20 to buy a new box to pack your computer, DVR, whatever.
$20? You don't need to buy an iBox to ship it, you can use a regular cardboard shipping box like us non-i peones do.

If ever there was an opportunity for next year to be the year of the Linux desktop, this is it. Too bad it won't happen.
