"I saw that Dish pays around 0.25/month per subscriber to Comedy Central. Yet somehow it's reasonable to ask 2 bucks for a single episode of a single show from that channel?"
I think the present system sucks and am not defending it, but...
At 0.25/month from each subscriber, they are likely taking in more than 2 bucks per actual episode view because a small minority of subscribers actually watch Comedy Central, even though it is a popular show.
If individual shows had to depend on paying subscribers paying by the episode. most shows would never get off the ground.
They figure that when their sorry asses get shot down by the US Navy that the US Navy will be the ones to fish them out of the water, so "Rescue" is in English.
Looks like IBM took into consideration of internal combustion engines vs electric motors. With an internal combustion engine, about 20-30% efficiency in highway use, an electric motor and electronics could be as high as 90% efficient. Pick the right numbers and that takes care of your 5 times less.
Naturally they compared their yet to be mass produced batteries with average or less efficiency internal combustion engines instead of the best available modern engines like in diesels or Atkinson cycle Hybrids.
"Safety would be greatly improved by relocating the GPS console to the driver's side directly in line of sight, and with a night heads-up display even better. Why is this? "
Good idea, and...
There is no reason to not also have a daytime heads up display. My car has it and it shows just enough information on the windshield. Distance to next turn, direction of turn and name of next road. They have been available on some cars for 10 years.
Part of that difference is the dealer experience. My experience has been that Japanese car dealers tend to provide better and less sleazy service than US car dealers.
My wifes 2000 Acura TL was one of thousands that needed the transmission replaced. We took it to the dealer. The dealer apologized for the inconvenience, provided a loaner car and replaced the transmission without the least bit of hassle. The dealer turned a big problem into a very forgettable problem. Getting warranty service for the smallest of problems on our GM and Chrysler products was always like getting teeth pulled. GM and Chrysler made the smallest problem a very memorable problem.
There is enough excess electrical power on aircraft to run an iPad or 50 so batteries aren't a problem. If the pilot, co-pilot and loadmaster have ipads, then 1 or 2 of them failing wouldn't endanger the mission.
"Also the guy is an idiot. Don't just make a statement, issue a challenge, like "If god existed he would strike me with lightning". That makes for a much more entertaining court trial."
Until some fundy judge sends you to the electric chair because his god "told" him to smite you with lightning.
There can be consequences if you don't pick a recognized religion. I was restricted to base for a weekend and given extra duty twice for putting down atheist and refusing to change it.
That happened to me about 5 years after I retired. A friend who was still working at my former employer called and asked if I had had any documentation on an old project they needed top resurrect. My employer had been good to me while I worked there so I sent it to them. Being only slightly paranoid I did send it with no return address or other info on where it came from.
He was talking about 1,000 people and those are rough waters so he needs at least an ocean going size cruise ship for it to work. Obsolete cruise ships are worth little more than scrap price, so a large used cruise ship would cost less per person than a smaller ship to operate.

I assumed that was the problem they were referring to.

Letting people talk about secure topics while in a cafeteria that all employees are allowed in isn't security.

Prior to that event, I bet he was one of those naive people that thought the police were there to help you.
Nothing encourages like success. More people are aware and ready to participate the next time RIAA tries to bribe a heaping pile through Congress.

They should market this to vampires.
Sounds like bullshit to the bone

I'm sure it will be Fair and Balanced and not lead to more teaching to the test.

He's just trying to get a job on the Russian version of US talk radio
Difference was, Edison's light bulb worked well enough to be useful because of some very fundamental differences.
The 1%er powers that be and their government minions are scared to death of the 99% being able to communicate freely.
Did you really expect 1984 to occur in 1984? Government programs by their very nature a completed late.
I have to live with myself, that is far more important to me than the opinion of some knuckle dragging bigoted 1st Sgt.

Haha, I guess a big thanks goes out to Australia and Brazil for being the beta testers. Thanks!
Australia is the alpha tester, Brazil the beta tester.
"The ribbon was polished more, "
Polishing the ribbon is like polishing a turd, it still stinks when you are done.
