It doesn't work that way. I'll be blunt: learning OSX is a pain. There's a ton of non-obvious stuff that is completely different from the Windows world (I'll just point to tabbing between firefox windows when other apps are open as one of my initial pain points), and which have to be re-learned.

So different automatically means worse? Describe something non-obvious from the Windows world that is more difficult to accomplish on Mac OS X? I would argue that the Mac is more obvious than Windows. Having used both operating system extensively, it typically takes twice as many steps to accomplish the same task in Windows than it does in Mac OS X. That's if you can even find the damn setting in the windows Control Panel in the first place.

And then there are things that OSX simply won't do. In Windows if I want to delete something I can click on the file, icon, object or whatever and press the Delete button my keyboard. In OSX I have to drag it to the Trash Can. Ya... that's a really efficient "workflow".

How To Delete In Mac OS X

    1. Select item in the Finder.

    2. On your keyboard, press Command (Apple Key) plus Delete (backspace delete).

    3. There's no step 3!

I have another gripe with the way OSX doesn't properly utilize the Delete key. I will use the example of typing in a web address. I want to go to www.google.com. So I type it out but accidently type www.boogle.com. Now if I want to delete the B, I have to put the cursor after the B and press backspace. I can't put the cursor in front of the B and press Delete. WTF is up with that? Everyone knows... Backspace moves the cursor to the left and deletes text to the left of the cursor. Delete keeps the cursor in place and deletes text to the right of the cursor. What is so hard about that?

This is so utterly wrong. Not sure what bizarro world you live in, but the Delete key works just fine on my Mac. If you need proof I'll even take the time to make a video for you.

Next you are going to argue that Macs only come with one button mice!

"unfortunately religious bullshit is reaching far beyond dirt farmers"

Looking at both your name and your comments, it's pretty apparent that you not only disbelieve in a god, you despise those that do; "dirt farmers" as the old canard that religious believers are poor and stupid. So let's establish right away that you have your biases too.

"and the pollution of science with faith is impacting other areas, such as pharmacists who are fighting for the right to withhold medicine from patients if they personally dislike it e.g. contraception."

That's not "a polution of science". That's a "polution", as you put it, of policy. And you're statement was pretty blatant misrepresentation of the issue. Pharmacists, in this case, that object to dispensing contraception or abortion pills do so not on scientific grounds, but on personal ethical grounds. And they're not refusing to dispense them outright, simply saying that their own personal beliefs don't permit them to issue such pills, and that other pharmacists can do it, and that because of their beliefs, they shouldn't be forced to it if another pharmacist that doesn't object is available. Many Doctors and Nurses also refuse to participate in abortion on ethical grounds as well, as they think it violates the creed of "first do no harm". We wouldn't dare force a doctor to perform an abortion. Pharmacists are simply saying they should have the same ethical rights.

You, however, misrepresent the whole issue because of your own personal loathing of religious faith. You make it sound like they're going "I'm Baptist, and I don't like you atheists so I'm not going to give you any penicillin". That's crap, sir. That doesn't happen. If you wish to provide an example to prove me wrong, I'd love to see it.

"(on the other hand if it gets much worse America will collapse so hard people will realise why the 1st amendment was such a good idea in the first place.)"

For an atheist, you speak in bombastically religious terms. "America will collapse"? Have you been taking rhetoric lessons from evangelicals? You sound like one, with the prophecies of doom.

America has been a religious country from its very origins, for hundreds of years. Religious influences are pervasive in our culture, law, and government. Always have been, and probably, always will be. We've been here for hundreds of years with religion without "dooming ourselves", thanks.

Just so I understand what you are saying, Doctors/Pharmacists should not be forced to treat patients because their own personal beliefs may not coincide with the desired treatment. This is complete bullshit. The Hippocratic oath states the welfare of the patient is the doctor's top concern, not their personal or religious beliefs. Suppose you needed emergency heart surgery, but the only doctor that was able to perform the surgery was Jewish. And you happened to need that emergency surgery on the sabbath. Shit out of luck? Refusing to provide birth control has nothing to do with ethics, and everything to do with the pharmacist's wacky religious beliefs trumping the desires and welfare of the patient.

People mindlessly clicking OK dialog boxes, even if they are warned twice, says more about user behavior then OS security. The problem with computer security is that computers are operated by human beings, which we all know means that many (if not the majority) of those human beings can and will be tricked to do things they shouldn't do. This is a fact of life. If the OS warns the user TWICE, and they still click OK, then I fail to see how this is a security flaw in the software. Are you sure attached apps are run automatically? > So you are saying that Jesus was never written about until over 30 years after his death? He was not biographed (to coin a word) until 30 years after death, because before that one could ask any of several thousand people who had seen him alive, at various stages of his life. The Epistles were written about him, in the sense of about what he had taught, and what the Crucifixtion meant, for at least a decade before the first Gospel. Before that, they were too busy talking about him to set it down. > What age were the disciples when Jesus died? Some were probably in their late teens, some probably as old as he was, or early 30s. Quite easy for them to have survived to the Gospel-writing period. John of Patmos, writer of the last accepted Gospel, might have been a very old Disciple (i.e., THE John) or someone who had interviewed him enough to adopt him as PoV when writing his Gospel version. Really, there are far better places than Slashdot to find this out. Are you honestly trying to suggest that people believed that the actual son of God lived on this Earth, performed amazing miracles, and redeemed mankind, and not one person thought it was important enough to record *at the time*. Given that people in those days were very lucky to see their 40s, I find it utterly insane to think that people would wait so long to record the life of Jesus if it was highly unlikely they would live that long. The truth is no one has a clue how old the disciples were. And they would most likely have to be children disciples to be able to live long enough to write a first hand account in 65AD. Considering there really isn't anything that is original about Jesus (born of a virgin, resurrection, etc.), it's clear that Jesus is old pagan gods repackaged and relabeled.
