You apparently don't realize that not everything will react with an acid. For example, the glass beaker it is often kept in. For further proof, notice that you have not digested yourself. There's some pretty strong stuff in your stomach, assuming that you are human of course.

Those words are not redundant or obsolete. That's one of the beauties of the English language; there's dozens of words with the same general meaning but a myriad of subtle nuances.

"A myriad of" and "a lot of" have the same overall meaning, that there is a large number of what ever object is being referred to. But they are not identical. A myriad implieas a larger number and also small differentiation between each of the objects. Just one example.

If we removed all redundancy, then awful, terrible, revolting, bad, hideous, and attrocious can all be replaced with "doubleplusungood." At least in my opinion that would be a doubleplusungood thing.

  7. Liscensing on Microsoft Customers Get No Bang for Buck · · Score: 2, Informative

Microsoft seems to want to move towards the liscensing strategy used for real expensive software like high end CAD tools. These are usually liscensed for a set term and each license lets you run one copy for the term of the license, whatever version you want on as many machines as you want (one running per license at any time butthe machine is irrelevent).

This is not your everyday "pedestrian" software like windows and office though. In my case, I'm using place and route tools for chip layout work. If there's a bug in the software that causes us problems, it can cost us serious money. Consequently, these types of licenses include a lot of support. You submit a bug and they put a couple engineers on it immediately and have patch to you in a little as a few days.

I can't speak to how MS treats its large customers, but I doubt they get that kind of response to problems.

Absolutely anything can be stolen. Do you always buy the crappiest bike or car because "it can be stolen"? Crappiest TV and stereo? I suppose if all your belongings have as little value as possible then that may mitigate the likelyhood of thievery.

What was my point? Oh yeah. Anything can be stolen. You're better off worrying about securing what you have, than trying to make your possesions unappealing to potential thieves. I could steal your house with the proper equipment and motivation.

You completely contradicted yourself. Weight is determined by diet and exercise. It's very simple really, if you eat more calories than you use, you will gain weight. If you eat less, you will lose weight. Now, that doesn't necessarily mean that it is easy to do.

But, some people can eat extremely high calorie diets and not gain weight if they are active enough. I can personally vouch for that from my first season of varsity track in college. Because of the 3 hours a da of running and lifting I was losing weight despite a diet composed mostly of donuts and ice cream.

On the other hand, there are some actors that are always very good, and are believable (at least to me) in almost any role. Harrison Ford comes to mind.
