I am not switching to FireFox just for that reason. You can configure firefox to do a Google search if you type two or more words into location bar, but you cannot do the same for only one word.
FireFox needs a Mozilla style "type a word - click cursor down - click enter" functionality.
Back in the time I *did* program directly in machine code (decimal, not binary, but still...). My friend showed me the C-64 emulator on his Amiga, and I wanted to try if it handles machine code as well. There was no assembler, monitor (=debugger) etc, so I wrote the program in a BASIC wrapper and run it. I even didn't need to look for the opcodes, they were unintentionally memorized...
Our assistant at the college knew the whole opcode set of 6803 microprocessor. She even knew the clock cycles for most of them.
SpyBot.info, which redirects to safer-networking.org has been under a DDos attack. Try www.safer-networking.net instead:
"After at least three days of standing up against the attacks that have already hit some other anti-spyware sites (including our support forum at Net-Integration), safer-networking.org was temporarily down last night as well, while our provider was tightening the systems to make them proof against any further attacks. We apologize for the outtime."
Yahoo search used to be a rebranded Google search. About a few months ago they rolled up their own search engine (technology still provided by someone else. Inktomi?).
I'm not living in the States, thus I can't be sure, but I don't think it's too difficult to reflash the firmware such that the disabled features come back. Here in Europe every mobile shop can do it for you.
You could do wonderful things with them, from 1.7-1.8 meg floppies, that were a bit slower and less reliable, to some magic 1.22 meg format that mysteriously made my floppies faster.
FDFormat would format floppies at 1.72 MB, and with sector sliding. They were almost twice as fast as normal ones.
You can do the same and more(*) by installing PrefBar with FireFox or Mozilla.
(*)From the PrefBar web site: The original preferences toolbar was designed to give the user more control over the pages viewed, and to allow the power browser to use mozilla with greater ease and efficiency than ever before. The PrefBar2 takes this concept to a whole new level; along with the standard preference checkboxes, the new version includes utility buttons, user agent spoofing, web links, and more, served on a fully customizable toolbar with a side of white rice.
No, they found oil instead. In unrelated news, there are rumours that Martian terrorists are planning an attack against Saturn, and Bush extends the war against terror to outer space.

Slashdot is a news site. If you post a link to a website thats 12 days old chances are its not going to have the information you expected it to have.

Most probably you deleted some spyware using something like SpyBot/Ad-Aware.
Firefox is actually faster than IE in many occasions. I think you will begin to feel it once you get more used to it.

Especially after posting 769 KB (1600x1200) JPGs on their web site.
The more fans you add, the more your room's temperature will rise. Conservation of energy.
That's why it should be INPUT. You cannot input a number between 1 and 10 by pressing only one key (unless you think in hex).
Did you know that Commodore 64 BASIC V2 was based on a dialect written by Microsoft.
30 INKEY$ B$
I believe that should be
30 INPUT B$
Then where do those teenage girls offering me to send their pictures store them?
Thanks for the FMA link. It looks promising.

My homepage is also about:blank like some other posters. There is no need to go to Google homepage when you use Mozilla or Firefox.
There is one, and it's called KMeleon. Its development is a bit slow, though...

You are thinking in the terms of today's technology for lenses:

Lucky you. My coffeemaker consumes electricity.
This is not the solution for plugging two different devices, but you can at least save carrying space by wearing the flash memory + mp3 player:

My shot is that the clerk was most probably referring to MPEG compression used by movie DVDs.
