I was being funny, i think.
But it would be cool if you could gather it up. Make space slightly safer.
Perhaps it would be better if we could attach the ribbon to our second moon (I forget its name), but thats probably too far away. Anyone know?
if a large mass was required to tether the ribbon to, would it not make sense to attempt to use all the junk in orbit of the planet instead of trying to send something up there?
Shame teleportation is in such an early stage, you could just teleport a large mass up there, admittedly the ribbon would weigh quite a bit too as there is like 16km of it.
A sonice the comic issue i once had. A moon was tethered to the earth using a huge metal chain. Sonic run up it etc, save the world etc. It was a good issue.
The school and college network is permenently infested with viruses. The technicians blame it on students infecting the computer with infected disks.
So to 'counteract' this they decided to prevent all disk access except through them.
This would have worked well if the viruses weren't actually coming from the internet through the techinicians computers, this was because of their overuse of p2p networks.
I remember at one point I was getting about 30 emails a day containing sobig in my mailbox, this lasted for about 2 months as each computer was periodically hit.
Write a virus that kills viruses, imagine it, a virus that decompiles the code of the virus to analyse it and find new ways to destroy viruses and remain undetected. The virus could randomly change its own size (file size) and name in an attempt to remain undetected.
It is to prevent people in other countries elling dvds to the masses for next to nothing before its official release. Lets hope they would do it with operating systems...i mean, then i would actually have to buy windows to do my college work!
if computers are meant to be less intelligent than humans at the moment, tyhen would it not be futile to assume that computers could create mathematical proofs, I'm just finishing my first year of further maths at A-Level and I known how hard it is to proove something, now to write a program to create a proof would need very good maths and programming ability. The problem is if any mistake is made the computer(s) might give an answer that seems right.
It reminds of the maths student who multiplied 2 with 2 and got 3. The journal publisher didn't notice the mistake, it took several weeks to check it for errors. Now if your going to use a computer to do more complex proofs it will take a very long time to check for all the errors.
Reminds of a speech John Prescott made once... "There are known knowns, unknown knowns, known unknowns, unknown unknowns..." and then he swore asked if he could do that again
The shadows in stop_test.mpg are really bad, the 'robot's' shadow falss towards the bottom right corner of the screen, yet the other objects have shadows pointing away from the camera (the hangar/warehouse entrance behind the camera), therefore the robot could never be part of that scene.
it looks more like the 'robot' is resisting the turning force caused by holding the top and side of the car (the roof rack) and therefore not the windscreen.
Yeah, not the best plot ever...
HERETIC!
You mother was a hamster and your father smelled of elderberries!
Ni!
Ecky-ecky-ptang-zweet-zooom-POW!

actually it tends to be (in phone boxes at least) 'for sex call' and then their friends number.
Or make them cheer... ..I'm sick in that way.
Is that from a personal experience?

That should be sonic the comic... sonice the comic was somethng completely different, honest.

They'd die on the way up!

...weapons i would have to say that the pigeon guided missile is my favourite.
Justr because you think your special it doesn't mean you are, thinking your better than other people will not get you anywhere in life.
is slashdot left or right?
i say the aliens did it....they always do...

This might lead to the evoltuion of it though.
