Yeah, right. We all know that one of them simply walks up to the INS agents, waves his hand and says "these are not the aliens you're looking for" and the INS agents simply walk away.
If that farm going under puts a large number of workers out of work? What happens to the businesses those workers bought goods from? Could it be that after we've knocked over the local food producers, they might end up tipping over the rest of the economy on the way down?
Strictly interpreted you are correct. However, we have been in a constant state of war or near war for nearly a century and a half. The Supreme Court would no doubt give the okay to a standing army funded indefinately given those conditions. There's also the possibility that the Supreme Court could simply declare that clause outdated on grounds that it would be impossible to defend the country in modern warfare if the clause was enforced. In other words, dismantling the country's standing armed forces could actually produce a national emergency all by itself.
Both ATI and nVidia have been known to insert game specific optimizations even in games that we don't normally see used as benchmarks. If they can pull it off without anyone noticing a difference in quality, why not? That's why we don't just use one game as a benchmark anymore. This is probably why ATI and nVidia driver release notes are full of game specific known issues and bug fixes every release.
I do wish they could optimize their drivers for the games without actually breaking them though...
I'm sure the ability to throttle your transfer rate to induce warping in multiplayer games like counter strike when they feel they might be in danger will be extremely attractive to 13 year old FPS fanatics...
The US government was going to buy PCs for use on a secure network from a Chinese company until they scrapped the deal over security issues. Many people accused the US of being alarmist over that, but here we see exactly how keyloggers etc could be shipped with PCs undetectable.
The company who wrote the software placed timebombs in the software to sabotage the garage if the city ever dared to cut off their licensing revenue. If they aren't there to update or otherwise intervene, the software will shut off the garage and leave any vehicle trapped in the garage.
I think there might be a facility for running the code in a different account (or even a different computer) for purposes of debugging. I'd have to look that up to be sure though.
Why not a security camera? Why would this stop damage when they could just damage his property and leave immediately? If he even admitted he thought it was his neighbors without any evidence, he'd lose immediately because the device would then be known to be inteaded to terrorize his neighbors.
God, I hope that was a joke because adding DVD and internet to it shouldn't make it original.
They don't call them Big Blue for nothing.

I'm all for standards, but are you saying you don't check to see if your site works with the #1 web browser?
Yes, because dismantling R&D has worked for every other major corporation in the past...
I think there's a slight difference between porn and mind altering substances ;)

it has slightly more than doubled...what's the problem?
well apparently some don't...and if you can recover even a few missing laptops it may be well worth it.
That is if the explosion doesn't blow the bag open :O
There are Mac OS X only games? Somebody has a stunning business model...
Apple tends to keep the same configurations for quite a while though.

Inflation + fuel prices + Congress telling them they must put billions into escrow...
The platform sdk is free and probably makes more sense for command line lovers than the express editions.
You just described what it means to be a world superpower. China will be doing the same thing when they grow up.
haha, my notebook PC has discoloration on one side but it's just a darker gray.
Virus installations, ad impressions etc.
Back then, MS's JVM was one of the best ones available. However, that distinction may not mean much since most JVM's blew the goat...
