    aah, this brings back memories...
    a while ago I was stuck with an pentium 133 Mhz, and 32 MB ram machine.. i installed red hat 7.1 (.2?) with KDE (and gnome) and it even ran OpenOffice!
    I even made it a multiboot with windows ME :)

    It swapped alot, but it worked :-)

    The book that changed my life was Enders Game. I am not really sure that this is the right title, becouse I read the Dutch version, and in Dutch the title is: Ender wint (Ender wins). It is not really a book about computers, but a novel about a boy that is going to rescue the world without he knows it (or wants it).

    A while back I installed red hat 7.1 on an old machine (133 mhz, 32 mb ram) and both KDE and gnome (can't remember which versions) ran on it. It was slow, and the system was swapping all the time, but it ran =]

    I then tried enlightenment and ran even better, and it looked better too!
